  11. hi russ was not saying it could have been booted for the beach scene, sounds far too northern for beach music. was just saying their is a culture of re-issuing/booting on the beach scene. mark
  12. can't see it being booted years ago cos it was really just a tape sound for a long time (cue chalky saying that's where it should have stayed ) unless i) it was a massive beach hit and ii) there's a bootlegging culture on the beach scene? have no idea about either of those questions, to be honest yes their is a bootleg culture on the beach scene what they normally do though is change the name of the artists i have a couple of these from buying a collection of 16 beach records of ebay, bought for one record but some of the others were songs i knew but didnt recognise the artist, so checked up and was told they do re-issue stuff in the carolinas, mark
  13. hi richie try this one GEMM Reference # GML820266275 actually Anglo $34.50 so not a bad price mark thought you could have found one easy with your prowess. mark
  14. hi richie turns up on ebay reasonably regular mark
  15. I have a copy of sam dees and i honestly feel that it is overpriced not that i would part with it though. i do not think that it is as rare as the price dictates but as we all know this is driven by demand and it has always been in demand. if there has been copies found i would like to know as then i would not be tempted to buy a spare for trade or selling on. And another thing on this i thought pete s and john manship were pretty friendly. funny what money can do mark
  16. i paid about £100 last year but it is fairly hard and seen on lists for £250, mark
  17. stevie 72/3/4 was when he had all the golden years stuff so ears were alight at this time, you may not like ian not many people do but you cannot take away the stuff he discovered and broke in the early 70's. mark
  18. hi chalky a few there, not being picky and cant be sure but wasnt Jesse James - Are You Gonna Leave Me discovered and played in the 70's, but as i say i cant be sure. he is a good dj and a brave one which a lot cannot claim to be, i think you need to be brave to try to break unknowns as we all know that is not as easy these day's, mark
  19. best dj's ever Barry Tasker early 70's pendulum Ian levine and Colin Curtis 73 to 76, Richard searling 70's till i stopped in 79/80, soul sam cleethorpes days and now, Artur fenn now, Carl willingham From when i came back 1996 till he retired, Of all of these i would say my favourite was Ian levine hs early years. mark
