  1. wel it just went for £165 on johns auction mark
  2. i went to both and of the two i would say cleethorpes was the better used to love that walk along th efront to the wintergardens prefered the winter gardens as a venue to the pier though, only problem wa sin 70's it took a long time to get there from manchester as no motorway after leeds, think i prefered cleethorpes because i was a blackpool mecca fan. mark
  3. dont think richard ever got another copy of the album andy mark
  4. Bye Soundsations Mr Sensation VG++ £100 have you played the other side of this neil mark
  5. hi dave was oneof the best is this not where you borrowed the jades and warped it on the chip shop counter. also this is where richard when leaving put some records on his car roof and forgot about them one of them was that lp by len barry with the cover versions on mark
  6. anybody see the independant on tuesday there was an article on stamp collecting apparently it has reached a boom time, with the 40 somethings now having more disposable income and the price of stamps increasing due to this and also the ease of buying of ebay and the internet. notice any similarities with collecting soul records/northern it states that stamps are one of the top 3 commodities sold on ebay sorry for boring you but i found it interesting. mark
  7. the two most famous infamous shabeen's/clubs were the Reno club nd the Nile club these were on the corner of moss lane and princess rd in moss side these were the most prominent and on show but iam sure there were many more underground (cellars) that were not seen. only ever went into the reno once was enough. i think you would need to talk to some of the older afro caribeans to find out about these. it has the makings of a good book why not give it a go derek. mark
  8. EACH TO THEIR OWN, MY MISSUS AND HER MATES ALL HAVE FULL CIRCLE SKIRTS AND SPENCERS (NEWLY MADE I MIGHT ADD NOT FROM THEIR YOOF, THEY WOULDNT FIT ) WHICH THEY STILL WEAR AT SOUL DO'S HAVE ALSO SEEN A LOT OF GUYS IN BAGS, DONT THINK THEY WANNA LOOK LIKE TWATS THOUGH (DO WHAT YOU FEEL) I FOR ONE THINK THAT AT EAST COAST SOUL, EASINGTON, BAGS & FULL CIRCLE SKIRTS GO WITH THE VENUE, BUT ALSO WE HAVE OUR FAIR SHARE OF YUNG UNS & OLD UNS IN TRAINERS & T SHIRTS. ALL WE ASK IS THAT YOU ARE TRUE TO THE MUSIC IM SURE YOU HAD "BAGGY TROUSERS" WHEN YOU DID THE FED MARK link
  9. there stiil is for men tends to be button down shirts, trousers either smart or casual and as jeans are as expensive as a good pair of trousers a lot wear them also the majority do wear leather soul shoes, i always say leather soles for going out and rubber souls or trainer types for casual (pub etc), you must remember that those fashions were in the 70,s when we all followed fashion of some sort, now most people like to look smart and feel comfortable, hence no real fashion trends, also who wants to look a t%"t in their 40's/50's in baggy trousers and a vest with badges on not me. mark
