  1. Went to a car boot sale on Sunday and picked a handfull of Uk red Atlantic (Otis Leavil , Barbara Lewis ect) , Action (Bobby Bland) , and a few others which i was pleased with because they were only 50p each and he let me have the lot (22) for £10.00. In with these 22 I had put in a 45 by Calum Bryce called Love maker which i knew was not soul in fact i thought it was by an Irish artist but thought i can sling it if its crap. Turns out according to Google search to be rare psychedelic but couldnt find a price guide for it so i thought i would put it on ebay with no reserve starting at £4.99 maybe fetching enough to pay for the other 21 45s. Within the first hour someone asked to end the auction early for £130.00 but i said no as i dont like doing this. Then yesterday someone else asked to end it early for £250.00 which i nearly did , my missus saying i was been greedy when i said no again. He then came back an hour later with an offer of £300.00 which i refused again which started the greedy argument again. Its currently at £4.99 with 1 bid. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Am i bieng greedy? What would you have done? Craig.
  2. Another San remo strings instrumental "Hungry for love" was also given the vocal treatment to great effect by Tony Michael on "I love the life i live" Brilliant! Craig.
  3. Heres what you are after https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Detroit_Sou...Gonna_Party.ram Craig.
  4. "Mike-, what's your opinion on soulclub.org?" And what exactly is the position of supplying a full download of a song a soulclub does opposed to a part sample of a song as John Manship does are there different rules for part samples. And do the (internet) northern soul radio stations playing the songs cop for loyalties. And then there are then the downloads on ebay listings. Very complicated , can anybody clarify this?
  5. Just stumbled on this site and i am amazed at the northern soul downloads. Give it a try its pure quality. https://northern-soul-records.com/sounds01.htm Craig W.
  6. You could allways try Pete Smiths ebays auctions, he is selling 3 great dvds of northern soul related material including the full length Function at the Junction along with lots of other astounding footage.Try this link. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW
  7. Had this for a while now but cant find any information on the artist , although I assume its Charlie Thomas of Drifters fame , year released , and like the Antique Roadshow most important question how much is it worth cause it aint a bad record in my opinion. Craig.
  8. I agree this 45 is so overrated , and in my opinion is a pile of shite and sums up the so over inflated prices bieng paid for soul music at the moment . On the other hand i wish it was me who was selling it! Craig.
  9. Careful , there will be nothing left to discuss on this site asking that many questions at once!!!!!! Craig.
  10. Funny how too much drink has an effect on your dancing isnt it. Went to an allnighter on Saturday and by 11pm my dancing was world class (well it was OK) but by 6am and more beer than i can sensibly handle , I was according to my wife but cant remember myself , dancing in the middle of the dancefloor to anything & everything like Oliver Reed when he sung wild thing pissed up on The Michael Parkinson Show. I dont believe her because i look nothing like Oliver Reed. Here is a picture of him not me. Craig.
  11. King Errison - Zola -Canyon. Total heart attack material
  12. I think Ill hold on to my collection for another 10 years at least , you never know the Yanks might want to start buying it then! Stranger things have happened.
  13. Dont know if this has been discussed before but is 1960s Northen soul vinyl a wise investment or a bad one? Prices have now reached frightening levels so is now the best time to buy or sell? I know the Northern / Soul scene is probably as healthy as ever at the moment but what will it be like in 10 - 20 years time , will it continue to grow in value or will prices gradually decline? What are your personal views on this? I quite honestly fear the latter, but on a non financial note i am enjoying the scene now more than ever before. Craig.
