Just found a version of Sunny by Chuck Jackson in my collection that i have never heard before. Typical big voice & production.Brilliant.Anyone else heard this version?

I heard that Mark but it suggested putting it in the oven for a while . Personally it bugs me to see a mint 45 with a lump like a camels back going round while its playing even if it plays great!

Following on from the advice on how to clean records , what is the best way to remove a warp from a record. I have heard various remedies but what really works? I heard if you put a warped record in the microwave for a couple of minutes it would become pliable and you could bend it back into shape. Tried this with a warped Doris Day 45 to see if it worked and it bent back into shape as flat as a pancake. Then tried it with a mint but slightly warped Eddies my name on Parkway , bent it gently and it snapped in two. Does anything actually work to remove warps?

On particularly filthy stained records use nitromors and a wire brush as a last resort

I do what Pete just suggested but with washing up liquid and water mixed and sprayed on out of a styling spray bottle with a push pump spray and played with the solution on wet . If the record is particulary dirty or scratched put a pound coin on the top of stylus and it tends to clean it a bit deeper.It works well and sometimes gets rid of some skips and jumps. I have an old record deck I use only for this.

That is why my smiley is in totally the wrong position.Arabic is read back to front.I tried pointing the smiley at the end of the quote but it kept re positioning itself to the start.Wierd

Just made an enquiry into 100 45s which I would be basically buying blind but were cheap enough so I asked the US seller for a shipping price for a lot of 50.Heres his reply. "To ship them each individualy it would be about $500 for shipping. If I ship them in one box I could do it for $250 for shipping." What do you say in reply to that????????????????

I heard on a radio show a couple of years back , it could of been all singing all dancing all night on R2 that there was enough new material to go at for at least 10 years , but as you say Brett what sort of quality?

Some American sellers still use The Goldmine and Osbourne price guides.I have a Goldmine price guide in front of me now and some of the rare soul is priced extremely low so if they are pricing by these guides you have a good chance of getting a good buy , but it appears more are using Manships now. As for buying off Ebay I find if you are very lucky you can get some great stuff at the right price from ebays sellers stores using buy it now , its hard work but if you look hard enough there are still good buys there.

Have to agree with you there Mark , Friday night and the flip side or is it the other way round has to be one of the greatest soul 45s ever recorded.On a similar note another artist in the same vein who deserves a mention is Emmanuel Laskey , his contribution to soul music was huge.

My top 3 female soul vocalists in strict order. 1.Little Anne - Would have loved to have seen her singing in her prime , what a voice and talent , so cruelly overlooked. Should of been a major star but never was.Her voice sends a shiver down my spine and I get goose pimples whenever I hear her voice. No better female vocalist. 2.Tammi Terrell. 3.Brenda Holloway.
