  1. No , nearly every one was in a proper company sleeve , a few in picture sleeves and few more in brown paper sleeves. Why? what did you have
  2. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a US seller seemed to be selling a nice mixture of of his own 100 x 60s and early 70s pop 45s with a buy it now price of $68.00 for some strange reason. I contacted him with the ask buyer question and asked if he had any soul 45s to which he replied yes use the buy it now and I will swap what is on there for entirely soul 45s , which I did which came to just over $100.00 with shipping. They arrived today and while there appears to be nothing I dont know apart from maybe Frankie Beverly's Raw Soul - While I'm alone on Gregar which is growing on me the more I hear it , what struck me was every one was in mint unplayed condition in the original company sleeve some of them picture sleeves. Nothing rare but all in time warp condition with that lovely unplayed smell which was worth the price alone. Buying job lots off Ebay seems to be hit or miss but what have you scored or lost big time on , on the whole I cant complain .
  3. The point I'm making Brett is that I have a lot of soul records that I have sitting in big boxes in an upstairs bedroom that I will longer listen to for one reason or another because as you get older your tastes change with time. I am not contemplating selling the bulk of my collection far from it ,and will be adding to it but just bieng a little more selective and will just be weeding out the ones I dont want and getting a half decent price for them while I still can and someone else may have a little pleasure , rather than giving them away in 20 or so years time because no one wants them.
  4. Other things to be taken into consideration is now most of us have a good disposable income to spend but in the next 20 or so years will be drawing our pensions so there may not be so much to spend on records then even if you still have an interest in them. By then as well I cant see any younger generations having any kind of interest in this music.
  5. Yes and if I do sell them I will put them on Ebay with no reserve and whatever they fetch I will let them go at .
  6. Is now the best time to sell your soul 45s from a financial point . Will prices continue to rise in the future? I dont think so , in fact I see a steady decline in prices in the next 10 years and most things bieng of little or no value in 20 years time apart from the super rare stuff which there will still be some kind of market for but generally most 45s will drop in price dramatically. There are some things I would never sell for one reason or another but there are others which I have which I will never really listen to or have held on to thinking they will rise in value but I am thinking of selling them now before they are worthless. Sorry to be a bit negative , I hope Im wrong but dont think I will be for one minute. What are your views.
  7. I bought this lot blind off Ebay last week using buy it now within a few minutes of it bieng listed. The desription , gradings and photos are a bit vague and whats worrying me most is the seller has only charged me $28.00 for shipping. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
  8. I had one in my car until recently but ruined too many £1000 rarities going over the speed bumps
  9. The only problem with vinyl Brett is its a bit hard to play and store in your car and thats where the beauty of a CD really comes in.
  10. Another great Don Gardner 45 released on Tru Glo Town 505 is I aint gonna let you down which is superb , and far superior to My Baby likes to boogaloo and cheap to pick up. I think I posted it up in the sounds section some time ago but dont think it would be worth playing out as it would clear most dancefloors. /uploads...3_90_346654.mp3
  11. When I went to Fleetwood a few years ago when Willie Hutch & Sandie Sheldon were on Ian Levine did a spot prior to them coming on on the Saturday and played Sad Girl by Carol Anderson and as the record was finishing someone in the crowd shouted out loud "Sad girl , Sad boy, SAD TWAT" Ill never forget the look on his face it was priceless.
  12. How about this superb dancer from 1961 . https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WALK-RIGHT-BACK-EVER...1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. I work for Post Watch and can remember dealing with this just complaint and will be informing my colleages of the serious nature of this fraudulent claim when I return to work on Monday. Such an offence warrants a minimum 50 year jail sentence with no appeal procedure.
  14. Whats probably happened is your postman was probably in a hurry to get back home and did'nt fancy taking the package back to the sorting office which he's supposed to do by law or he cant be arsed to write one of those cards they push through if the package is too big or no one is in. What i suggest you do is put a claim in at the post office get yourself a huge letterbox so this wont happen again.
  15. I have listened to it a number of times and still think the same . Put it this way if I had a compilation CD on in my car and this came on I would press the forward button.
  16. Each = 14 .
  17. I'm pretty sure I went to a venue in Leeds last year where 2 stunning female Djs played OOTF by Dobie Gray about 14 times in the same night and it filled the floor evey time
  18. I'll PM you Jamie with the next date .We could do with a couple of lads from up north to show us how its done properly
  19. Heres my advice. Try them on Ebay first , if they dont sell try them on here , if they dont sell take them on the car boot sale , if they dont sell on there give them Pete Smith to take to the tip the next time he goes to work there.
  20. I would of been until I edited it about an hour ago.
  21. After recent discussions on here makes me want to ask this question. The dancefloor is full , you then play something obscure maybe that totally clears the dancefloor. What record is near enough guaranteed to fill it again from from experience from a Djs point or if you are in the crowd what would get you back up to dance to everytime.I need to know before I DJ again
  22. Gladys - Love - O-gee . The Forty Four Club Wolverhampton.
  23. Christianartifacts got kicked off Ebay around 12 months or so ago. He allways seemed to be selling so called unsorted soul and 45 collections ,shrink wrapped Lps which whe shrink wrapped himself and obscure soul 45s that cleared dancefloors in the north of England. Was allways blaming his "Rival sellers" for his bad feedbacks. He started back up again under another name and got his positive feedback quickly up to 50 or so the same way as he did initially by buying milk tokens at $0.01. I cant remember what his new username was but he's probably been kicked off again since.
  24. Heres a link to 747 by Saxon Dan bieng as you have never heard it https://www.content.loudeye.com/scripts/hur...6900&cid=600141
