  1. Heres a couple that will set you back little or nothing I've been playing recently. Bunny Sigler - Sunny Sunday - Parkway. https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Bunny_Sigle...unny_Sunday.ram Percy Sledge - Heart of a child - Atlantic. https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/sounds/exists...EART_OF_A_CHILD
  2. Ive just looked and you're right , stock £20.00 , DJ £150.This is what he says. "CARL "45" FORTNUM IS THE ONLY COLLECTOR I KNOW WHO HAS A PROMO OF THIS DETROIT CLASSIC. THERE WILL BE A FEW OTHERS BUT IT'S A BIG GAP IN MOST DEMO COLLECTIONS"
  3. Ive got a multicolour Dj copy. Am I right in believing this is worth a lot more than the stock copy?
  4. The first hour is painfully slow and is a bit of a slog if you try and do it all to yourself so as someone mentioned earlier me and Pete do half hour each to start the night and what we did the other night which seemed to work well was we double decked between 10-11 so in effect you were behind the decks for a hour and a half.

There was also an EX copy on ebay last week at £20.00 buy it now. It should'nt be to hard or expensive to pick up. I played this on Friday. Great record.
  6. I'm newly promoting and Djing at a small venue here in Wolverhampton and have basically lost money overall on the 3 events so far but have booked the venue for the whole of next year which I will honour because I totally and truly and allways have loved the music and so far I have enjoyed every minute of it and will continue till I make enough money to retire comfortabally or bankrupt myself , although I fear the latter will be first. What people dont realise is you dont just turn up on the night , set up, pack up and go home , there is a lot more to it than that and you have to put a hell of a lot of work in the background and another thing is when you need their support you find out who you're real friends are.
  7. Had a poor year at the boot sales this year , I'm up most Sundays at 5am but not much about nowadays but I've had tons of really cheap stuff off Ebay listed in the wrong categories including a mint demo of The Chris Towns unit - Turn to me on Port for $2.00. The best value for money and the one that has given me the most listening pleasure is Love by Gladys on O-Gee for $40.00.
  8. What a record, Love it everytime I hear it and so great to dance to. Where I went last night when it was played it totally filled the floor where as some lesser known tunes emptied it so that says a little bit about it.
  9. I got a juicy mouth baby - Liza Mae.
  10. Heres the alternate take of The New world by The Burning Emotion on ABC. As i said earlier listen for the great sax duelling with the harmonica towards the end. Stevie Wonder V Mike Terry.
  11. All said in good humour. Seriouslly if I sold the whole of my collection it might keep you on air for a week at most.
  12. Sell a couple of records out of that large big money collection of yours and use the proceeds to help keep you going for a while. Thats what I'd do personally
  13. Just dug the ABC version out of The New world and you're right it is nothing like the Bang version its still credited to Teddy Vann & totally the opposite , in fact it sounds a bit like Groving with Mr Bloe. Some great saxaphone playing in it mind.Very strange.
  14. Heres the greatest ever instrumental complete with soul drenched vocals. Listen for the great erm sax break.Superb stuff
  15. On the same subject I seem to remember the Wheeltappers re runs bieng shown on one of the Sky or Cable channels in the last few years and there was a black female artist singing a great version of the old Tony Middleton classic To the ends of the earth but cant remember who it was.
  16. Yes its on the Slow Fizz label white label Dj promotion "copi" SF1. I dont know the origins of it.
  17. Whats wrong with the lyrics "Stevie Wonder and his Fingertips , James Brown with those Motown licks" Absolute classic lines And another thing there are no call centres in Stoke on Trent now , they are all in India.
  18. Just been sorting through a few records and played this. What are the origins of this and who are the vocals actually by and when and where was it actually recorded? Besides this , Festival time and To win your heart are there any other versions.
  19. Another record with wierd and wonderful noises is Human jungle by The Fugitives complete with Tarzan sounds and a baby crying at the end. Havent heard this for years. Brilliant!
  20. Its "The New world" on Bang 553 by The Burning Emotions and its for sale at £5.00 to ayone who wants to take it off my hands.
  21. Listen to this pile of bizzare shite then.
  22. Depends on the hours, pay and company pension. I've heard the current moderators are on £20 an hour , work 100 hours a week and retire on full pay when they are 50. So yes.
  23. Certain things are taken for granted and when they are taken away it is hard to imagine life without them especially when they dont cost you a penny and give you superb enjoyment and pleasure at the expense of someone elses hard work , time and cost as is the case with The Soul Club website. So I think a big big thanks is due to Mike Hughes for Soul Source who has provided this superb outlet for the past few years which has given so much pleasure and information to anyone who has been lucky enough to be involved with it and in my opinion has played a major part in the progression of the modern day rare soul scene and should be totally appreciated for this. Thanks Mike.
  24. Theres an original Decca promo on Ebay at the moment with buy it now. https://cgi.ebay.com/JOHNNY-CASWELL-45-DECC...1QQcmdZViewItem
