Just been listening to a couple of Frankie Valli tunes before I go to bed before I get up early for the Sunday boot sale and while listening to I'm gonna change thought about the Italian influence which was quite huge towards a large number of major classic tunes , whether it was by Frankie Valli , Dean Parrish etc, the writing credits Teddy Randazzo etc had a major influence on a lot of the big sounds. What are your favourite sounds or influences from Italian artists or producers. I will be playing I'm gonna change by The Velours at the Connaught on the 29th. Any other suggestions .

Is This The Messiest 60s Soul 45 Ever Recorded?
Craig W replied to Craig W's topic in All About the SOUL

If you want me. This finished on Ebay tonight complete with the below sounclip recorded only on a Spanish 45 by a black American soul artist by the name of Freddie Davis. This is the worst production I have ever heard , all over the place , a complete f*** up by any standards. The ending is brilliant though. "You know you want me , of course you do , here we go HO" https://personal.auna.com/marditosroedores/...avis-if_you.mp3

I reckon he ran back upstairs singing another Frankie Valli classic , "I'm gonna change" (back into my clothes) before Liz finds out.

Was it Home of the brave by Bonnie and the treasures? "It doesn't really sound that much like Ronnie Spector, does it? Rumors to the contrary apparently notwithstanding, Charlotte O'Hara (ne Matheny) sang lead on this Mark II version of Phil Spector's Wall of Sound, produced by Spector protg Jerry Riopelle and issued on a short-lived Philles subsidiary label. Behind Charlotte were Sherlie Matthews and Clydie King. The song, by Brill Building experts Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, is a Shangri-Las-y tale told by a teenage girl who can't understand why her boyfriend was suspended from school " for the length of his hair."

I started a thread some time ago on here under the title "Thank you Mike" along the lines of everyone took this site for granted and it was an everyday essential part of some peoples lives , did'nt cost a dime to be a member of and has brought so much pleasure to so many people. So much work has been put in to bring it to where it is at the moment with all the changes in the past 12 months with a complete overhaul of the look of the site and the new Ref-O-Soul sounds section it would be a complete shame to give up now as Soul Source is now better in many ways than it ever has been. There will be a time in the future when Soul Source will finally close its doors but now is certainally not the right time as events on here today whether it's to do with this subject or any other has proved. The viewing figures on here today must have broke the daily record. Soul Source is a Priceless Treasure.

On tonights Corrie from what I saw Liz Macdonalds boyfriend who is into northern soul and had his records nicked was falsely lured into believing he was going to have sex with one of the Rovers barmaids on the settee in Liz Macdonalds house but when he came downstairs only dressed in his boxer shorts with a big hard on singing the Frankie Valli classic "Youre ready now" finds its all a big wind up with Betty "Hot Pot" Turpin and a couple of others sitting on the settee having a good old laugh at the wind up , with him not seeing the funny side of it. My question is as he beat a hasty retreat back upstairs what Northern soul classic would he be singing as he tried to cover his tracks before Liz found out!!

Dont you mean you could watch those big jugs jumping about in that top allnight? Type in "animated gif" in Google , go to one of the websites that have them then you can download the image to your computer and then upload it as your avator on soul source or put a direct link to the image off the website on your controls.

They are great in fullsceeen mode , no distotion or quality loss whatsoever when played with Windows media player , Realplayer or Jet Audio.
-
Very good Mike from what I have viewed but they are obviouslly only as good as the quality of the clip submitted to You Tube originally.
-
Which one Dave , Porno , Soul or the latest unreleased movie. Or maybe all three
-
Right , read very carefully because this is a bit long winded but really easy once you know how and well worth it once you've put in the effort. First of all go to the You Tube video you want to download. There you will find a box named URL. e.g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU2rz6BR0vQ. Copy the URL link of the desired video and paste it in the download link on the below web page --- https://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php In the right hand box select You Tube or the desired site where the file link originates from paste in the download link and then click the download link. Then look below and a download link box should appear. Right Click this box and select Save target as and select your download destination e.g Desktop ,delete the file name Get Video and type in what you want to save it as and then very importantly add .flv on the end e.g Supremes.flv and then press Save. This is important as You Tube videos are flv files (Flash video files) The video will then download to your download destination. If you want to watch the videos on this format you will need a FLV Player which can be downloaded from the below link free which you can drag and drop the downloaded file into and it will automatically play and you can control the video size -- https://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flv-player-updated FLV files are ok if you just want to watch them on the FLV player but other formats wont play them e.g Windows Media player , Real Player , so you need to convert them to AVI , MPG etc and then it gets interesting. You need a FLV to AVI, MPG convertor . You can download a free converter on the below link but you are limited to one file conversion at a time which works fine -- https://www.ultrashareware.com/Ultra-Video-To-Flash-Converter.htm Click the Download link at the top of the page and then Ultra Video to Flash download link and download the programme. When you launch the programme you will get this Interface. I suggest you click on the left hand options box and select the Output directory to where you want the converted file to be save to e.g Desktop. Click AVI as the Output file format and set video frame rate to 24 , Video bit rate to 188 , Audio sample rate to 22050 and Audio bit rate to 56 but you can fiddle around with these to you own requirements. Then click the batch box click Add file or drag and drop the file and then click Convert and after a little while it will be saved as an AVI file which you can then watch on any format. The real beauty of this now is you can burn them to CD or DVD!! A full time limited programme can be dowloaded at the below link which allows you to shrink your saved MPG or AVI files and burn them to CDs which you can play on you PC or DVD player. Its a superb programme.Im burning as many as I can onto CDs at the moment. https://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/products/php/product.php?idstring=0137&session_langid=2 I hope all this helps as its well worth the effort as you never know how long these videos will be available.

Just picked up an A&M press release p/s 45 of Nino Tempo & 5th Ave Sax Sister James with the sleeve notes reading- "Remember that fancy frog in the "Pinky and Perky" TV series who used to blast out the fruity Boots Randolph sound? Well hes back , masquerading as The 5th Avenue Sax ans supporting Nino Tempo (of Deep purple fame) wit "Sister James" destined to become dynamite in the discotheques" So the 5th avenue sax was actually a frog I used to watch Pinky & Perky but cant remember seeing the frog whos name apparently was Morton. Anyone else remember seeing him perform.

I've had an item removed by Ebay today because in my description I accept cash as well as personal cheque or Paypal in my payment options.!!!!!!!! Apparently accepting cash as a form of payment by postage is strictly against Ebays policies. The only way it can be used as a form of payment is cash on collection !!!!!!! What a load of bollocks.I've been listing with the same payment options for years. Here's what they say. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not permitted. Your listing(s) contains the following information: Sellers may offer to accept PayPal, credit cards including Mastercard/Visa /Amex/Discover, debit cards and bank electronic payments online for eBay purchases. Sellers may also offer to accept bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers. Sellers may accept COD (cash on delivery) or cash for in person transactions. Sellers may offer to accept personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks and other negotiable instruments. Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. For more information on Safe Payments Policy visit the following Help page: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/acce...nts-policy.html

A fantastic Lp and well worth having in your collection if you can get your hands on one. From what Ive learnt since having the LP, Jerry Blavat (The Geator) had a US television programme in the mid 60's featuring mainly soul artists and the audience did the above dances to the live acts.
