Just made an enquiry into 100 45s which I would be basically buying blind but were cheap enough so I asked the US seller for a shipping price for a lot of 50.Heres his reply. "To ship them each individualy it would be about $500 for shipping. If I ship them in one box I could do it for $250 for shipping." What do you say in reply to that????????????????
  10. I think Frank Popp Ensemble have had a go but how many regard this as soul music is debatable. There web site is cool check it out here well worth a look with some sounds too https://www.frankpopp.com/
  11. I heard on a radio show a couple of years back , it could of been all singing all dancing all night on R2 that there was enough new material to go at for at least 10 years , but as you say Brett what sort of quality?

Some American sellers still use The Goldmine and Osbourne price guides.I have a Goldmine price guide in front of me now and some of the rare soul is priced extremely low so if they are pricing by these guides you have a good chance of getting a good buy , but it appears more are using Manships now. As for buying off Ebay I find if you are very lucky you can get some great stuff at the right price from ebays sellers stores using buy it now , its hard work but if you look hard enough there are still good buys there.
  13. Have to agree with you there Mark , Friday night and the flip side or is it the other way round has to be one of the greatest soul 45s ever recorded. On a similar note another artist in the same vein who deserves a mention is Emmanuel Laskey , his contribution to soul music was huge.
  14. My top 3 female soul vocalists in strict order. 1.Little Anne - Would have loved to have seen her singing in her prime , what a voice and talent , so cruelly overlooked. Should of been a major star but never was.Her voice sends a shiver down my spine and I get goose pimples whenever I hear her voice. No better female vocalist. 2.Tammi Terrell. 3.Brenda Holloway.
  15. Another who deserves a mention if only for his vocal style alone is Little Anthony.
  16. Sorry Gareth didnt include your reply in that remark i made.
  17. Now if I was a newbie you would have scared me off forever with those remarks.good job Im a seasoned campaigner
  18. Bit of a daft question really and impossible to answer but how much undiscovered or unheard soul is left. Are some people just sitting on the stuff waiting to cash in when the time is right or is there things out there that are just lying around no one knows what it is?I know most of the master tapes have been unearthed. I have nothing soul wise in that department but I do have a number of 60s Psychadelic unheard/unreleased emi disc metal aceataes and keep thinking I will hold on to them they will only rise in value. Me saying that how many people could there be out there who are not into soul music but who have soul material and think along my lines with holding on to it?
  19. I might be wrong but I think the earlier labels had red lettering and the later ones had black.
