  1. You have had a long time to think and reply to this thread. Is this so called friend is still listing items on your Ebay username account because if he is looking at the descriptions on the completed items and the three current items for sale the descriptions are all in upper case text with dashes here and there and have been obviously listed by the same person. What is stopping him listing more bogus items? I would suggest if you are away have use of a computer as you say you cancel these current listings if this is the case as you can easily do by logging in to your account. I would also contact Ebay or the so called friend who is apparently ruining your reputation. I would be very alarmed if this was happening to my Ebay account and would have taken strong action by now if a so called friend of mine was acting this way.
  2. Theresa Lindsey Daddy O Golden World. In reality a £10.00 tune because it is so readily available but it is the absolute epitome of a 1960's Detroit soul production. Spine tingling. Great flip side with I'll bet you which deserves to be up there with the best. I remember going as a guest on the Mary Fox show a few years ago on Radio Stoke and giving her The Daddy O Golden World 45 to play off one her decks which she championed and totally blew her away and she hammered and promoted to death and soon became massively in demand. I then sold my demo on Ebay for £100.00.Dont know what it fetches now but what a tune .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkrnUWyL5_o
  3. I assume J T Carter was on backing vocal on this beauty. What a voice Johhny Maestro has. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28PH49HCzDs
  4. Wasn't Johhny Maestro lead singer of the Crests? I'm sure he was.
  5. There's a whole you tube page dedicated to soul related Vietnam songs called The Vietnam war song project. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPfJuMhIWt06V5RnZoJ5adyRegclu9JLQ
  6. Here you go. What a tune this is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWPBoudStM4
  7. Harlem by Bill Withers on Sussex. Not even a fiver can be picked up for 50p or a £1.00. Slow start but builds and builds in tempo Best value soul 45 ever. sounds a million dollars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpn4D5L67QI
  8. I sold an Lp to a Russian buyer early in January this year. A couple of days ago he contacted me saying he had not recieved the item and could I show him the tracking details , sent International signed for fully insured. I sent him the details and what it said on Royal Mail track and trace site. An hour later he contacted me again saying the record had a blemish which was not in the description and wanted a full refund and would not return the record until I had given him a refund in full first. As if. Over 70 days and wanted a full refund. As someone said earlier he has 45 days to file a complaint. If I seriously thought he was an honest buyer I would of refunded him but something was not quite right. I told him to take it up with Ebay and the Russian postage service but have not heard anything since touch wood.
  9. When I had my antique shop in Sedgley around 15 years ago I put an A board up outside stating I wanted records. Cheap advertising that got me a small collection or two. Anyway one Saturday while I was out my wife Dawn said someone had popped in the shop who had a load of easy listening and pop Lp's and some bric a brac They left their phone nunber but I was advised by Dawn not to bother ringing back as it sounded rubbish from their brief description. I rung back because I thought there may be something in the bric a brac and it was not too far away and arranged to go to see what they had on Sunday morning at a bungalow in Dudley. I went in and on the living room floor was around 500 L'ps that they had got down from the loft. They were all 1960's Uk Tamla Motown and soul Lp's including most of the rarer and hard to find ones as long as the more common ones. No rubbish no easy listening or pop just all Tamla Motown and soul. They were bought when new , played once and stored away. They were in stunning condition, I've got to admit I trembled as I asked how much they wanted. £25.00? for the lot they asked " We need them out the way". Ok i said that seems fair enough. The reply was you can have them on one condition and that is you take the bric a brac as well. They took me in a bedroom and there was a wall clock and a load of capidimonte and other ornaments that they wanted £50.00 for which I quickly agreed to. I kept what I wanted which I probably still have and took what I did'nt to Malvern flea market and sold most of the collection (probably too cheap) to a Worcester record dealer who commented he had never seen this type of Motown and soul vinyl in this condition. Although i have bought a lot of very large collections since nothing compares with the sheer quality of this one.
  10. There's an online guide here at Roots vinyl guide. https://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ Just type in what you are looking for and it brings up a list of previous auction results. These are only auction results and not buy it nows and you must remember a lot of the higher prices may just be down to fake bidders but it is still pretty handy though.
  11. I don't know how reliable this is but various internet forums and websites have announced the death of Lou Bond. Can anyone confirm this? Lou of course recorded the incredible You shake me up on Brainstorm. https://www.musicismysanctuary.com/forgotten-treasure-lou-bond-lou-bond-1974/
  12. I bought a huge private collection of around 10,000 Lps from Birmingham around this time last year. I had to hire a large van to move them in a couple of journeys. I paid quite a large sum of money for them but there are tons of prog rock ( vertigo swirl , Decca , Plum Atlantic etc) loads of reggae Lp's but only a small amount of soul Lp's. Have had to rig up Ikea and home made shelving upstairs to house them and the garage is full to the cieling with them. I bought them with the intention of selling them on a daily basis on Ebay but have only put a small handful on as Lp's are very time consuming to grade as I listen to each track on each Lp before grading for obvious reasons as You can't visually grade them. They do my head in. I only really enjoy putting 45's on as they are so simple to list. But never mind I've got a crap pension when I retire so they may come in as a good income in theory if people still want them then.
  13. I can see why he gets so many non positive feedbacks. His descriptions are very vague to say the least.he has 7 pages of records listed at the moment. Get ready for a load more negs and neutrals in the coming weeks. Why not invest in a record player if you're selling vinyl. What aTwat Bet he punches holes in his doors at home. Wtf is an Ox clown? Heres an example below. https://www.ebay.com/...=item19d894edbb THE GRADING OF THIS VINYL RECORD IS ONLY VISUAL ! GRADED VISUALY BY EYE ONLY ! SEE VERY WELL THE PHOTO , WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO IS WHAT YOU CAN BUY !
  14. Check out this Portugese record sellers follow ups to his negatives and neutrals on Ebay. Its pure comedy gold. How these have remained and not been pulled by Ebay is beyond me. https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=portugalis&iid=111007821243&de=off&items=25&which=negative&interval=365&_trkparms=negative_365 https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=portugalis&iid=111007821243&de=off&items=25&which=neutral&interval=365&_trkparms=neutral_365
  15. Any idea on value of the Canadian Quality 45 Bri? Isn't it around £20.00 on US Arctic
  16. Picked bobby is my baby by Barbara Mason on Quality up off Ebay a few years ago off Ebay for a few dollars. Never seen another one.
  17. How about Lisa Maye - I've got a juicy mouth baby. Whats all that about? Anyway slightly off topic how about this album cover which recieved a lot of complaints when it was released. Look at the guy at the front at the bottom of his jacket. People thought it was his dick hanging out when in fact was his finger. It was withdrawn and re released with the offending object airbrushed out.
  18. From my experience in Detroit from around 3 years ago in February when it was freezing cold and around 6 inches of snow. Travelled over with Hitsville Chalky . Bill Randall and Ian Curtis and was the trip of a lifetime which I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Record store wise this was my expreience from Ian and Chalkys safe guidance. First of all was a trip to Bob Mays house. Bob had been trading from a recently closed shop in Detroit but was now selling records from his house. His shabby cluttered living room was basically a record shop packed with thousands and thousands of 45's in boxes. From what I can remember after a couple of hours of digging I found Belita Woods Magic corner on Moira and Royal Jokers Love game a to z on wingate and tons of other Detroit and related stuff in all sorts of conditions. Found a pile of around 50 45's got on very well with Bob and got a deal of $200 for the lot. Bob mays house Next was a trip into Downtown Detroit to a charity record store for raising money for disadvantaged people where there was a huge stack of unsleeved 45's in a metal caged room. Can't rememember the name of the place. These unsleeved 45's has obviously been well sorted through and were as rough as f*ck but still yielded a small pile of mainly R&B 45's for just a few dollars. The person who was running the place bought a couple of boxes of decent soul 45's from the office at the back but wanted stupid prices. The shelved Lp's were dirt cheap and I bought a small pile including a Vibrations Okeh Lp which has the amazing overlooked Secret love track. For some reason Peoples records was closed so never got the chance to get there. Next was a trip to Street Corner Records which was from what i can remember on a small modern shopping precinct. There was a large shelved $1.00 section of mainly soul 45's . I bought The Metros - Since I found my baby on RCA and Brooks O'dell on Bell and around 70 other 45's for a deal of around $50.00. Not in mint condition but still very playable. This shop also had multiple unplayed Ric Tic stock 45's at $1.00 a time. Apparently if you ask the shop owner nicely who was not in at the time he will show you some nice choice soul 45's from behind the counter. While we were were here we were recommended to travel to Flint MI visit a couple of record stores. I travelled out with Ian in very difficult sub zero heavy snow driving conditions. First one was a small store that had unpriced 45's but if you asked it was priced into Popsike on his Computer. Ian bought Wilson Pickett - Let me be your boy for $30.00. Next was a huge wharehouse in Flint MI which had just purchased a massive juke box collection of hunrdreds of thousands of unsorted 45. I got talking with the store owner who was a real nice guy who showed me some Marv johnson local live video perfomances which where amazing. He then bought a large stack of unsleeved 45's from the back room and asked if there was anything I wanted. top of the pile was an unsleeved beat up copy of Brice Cofield Aint That Right on Omem along with loads of Beatles and other shite. How much for this I asked For the Brice Cofield - $500 or make me an offer. After this after a couple of hours searching through the jukebox collection I found a lot of around 50 mint soul 45' which included Teddy randazzo you dont. need a heart and Billy Eckstine _ I wonder why for around $250.00 for the lot. Worth the trip alone. I returned with a full suitcase of records to the UK. Darrell Banks
  19. This Ebay negative below just about sums BrianK up. As Pete says he trades on Ebay under the username of Tapes. Seems he is also as difficult to deal with as a seller as it appears he graded this record "right" Just about sums him up really. overgraded record, argumentative seller with bad attitude. do not trust Member ID mountain_view_mod ( Feedback score of 2368) 18-Dec-10 17:58 Reply by tapes (18-Dec-10 23:58): agreed played better than graded but wanted 30% refund. I denied. graded right. Great Garage 45 THE CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND TOWER LISTEN (#260703139818) US $104.01
  20. & $38.00 return postage!
  21. Never mind what manship has to say about it Brian just do the decent thing and retract your feedback. You know you will eventually. Pete Smith is a decent guy and has a deep knowledge of soul music. I know as a business seller how important feedback is so please consider it.
  22. Worth a try Pete wont cost anything.. Go on and let me know what it leads to or if its just a waste of time.
  23. I'm assuming you hav'nt left feedback for him yet Pete. The reason is I've noticed recently there is now an option to "Report this buyer option" in the leave feedback page. I have no idea what this is as I have had no need to use it but it may well be worth having a look at it and see what happens. I would.
  24. Divshare most of the time because its simple to upload and embed but I'm trying out box net at the moment which has an embeddable player but its a bit more fiddly.
  25. I think its called E commerce player now. You get 5 free goes on it then you have to pay. Complete rip off.
