Hi all Just to make you all aware of what my stand is on this topic POG is a comedian so we were aware that this was not going to be a serious look into Northern Soul it was meant to be a comical look back at Pauls past and Wigan was a part of his past. This was not something I went looking for they came to me I received a phone call asking me if I was prepared to appear on his show. I went in with my eyes completely open so believe me no one made an idiot out of me I was paid for my time I lost no money paid out for nothing myself I had a great day and was looked after real well was given some great food and was kept supplied with drinks all day I met some real interesting people and believe me I enjoyed myself. I personally don't think it was done to take the pee out of anyone apart from POG. I was treated with respect by all I met all day long. If some of you disagree with what I did well that is up to you but come up to me when you see me at a soul night and let me know in person not hide behind a keyboard and computer. If what you want is someone to make a show about the soul scene today do something about it instead of moaning about what is being done.

The Wigan Casino Club and Blackpool Mecca were the places to go to enjoy this type of music and to watch the dancers. If you feel you have missed out on these experiences - think again! there are many good revivals taking place around the Country that are very well attended. I can teach you and build your confidence so that you can join the great dancers on the dance floor. My experiences of Northern Soul started when I was at school - this was my era. I cannot explain how exciting it was and thrill of the music and dance has never left me - I am passionate about it. I have been dancing since I was 9 years old and have represented my Country in top championship dance competitions - dancing is in my blood. I am now a qualified teacher of dance (in many dance styles) and have have my own dance studio with a maple, sprung dance floor in Huddersfield. My unique dance teaching skills are second to none and my ability in Northern Soul Dance has been with me for the past 30 years. I have devised programmes and workshops and below are the details of how you can learn to dance to Northern Soul. 6-Week Beginners Courses 15 people maximum on each course 1 hour duration for each session, held once per week £75 per person for each full course £15 deposit secures your place (Non-returnable) SATURDAYS - 1.30pm till 2.30pm All day beginners Northern Souls Dance workshop One Full Day of Dance Tuition Maximum 10 People on each Full Day 5.5 hours duration for each Full Day Workshop £110 per person for each Full Day £20 deposit secures your place (Non-returnable) TUESDAYS 10.30am till 4pm The Full Day Workshop is great for anyone who lives quite a distance away from our studio. It gives you the opportunity to learn the moves in one day thus travel is kept to a minimum. These workshops are very popular and run throughout the year. Below are the dates currently available.
