  5. Can you post up the DJ roster for this Event please ?
  6. I would be interested in a "when , where , who" please on this. Hope I am not going over "old ground".
  7. I noticed the above selling on eBay yesterday for $10k. (Carolina-Soul). It is a top sound but one you so rarely hear played out (for me anyway). So it must be rare ? (I deffo know Dave Rimmer & Butch spin it). Can anyone give me a quick "potted history" please. Best regards, Tom. Banbury.
  8. Off topic - slightly. Would anyone know where Butch's copy came from ? I wondered if it was Rob Marriot. Many, many, many years ago travelling back from a venue and Eddie H. had a tape of his (poss no track listing). All of a sudden "we can make it" came on. We all looked at each other and said "that's Butch's c/u !" This was years before anyone knew what it was. Don't think I am dreaming this - so be kind with your replies.
  9. My set will be right across the board for your delectation. 3:30-4:30pm. 68-72 was a real good period for Soul music; but I won't be just sticking to that. Modern , X-over , Stafford , 100 Club , my faves and a few surprises. Looking forward to your support and a great Event. Catch you later. Best regards, Tom. (Banbury Soul Club).
  10. The PM was to JOYANDPAIN. The person originally posting "the WANT".

Tom.
  13. Here is a very nice R/W demo of this masterpiece. I cannot find many of these being sold over the years ? £450. Plus shipping Special Delivery £7. UK only sale thank you. PayPal , Bank Xfer , Chq. P..M. if interested.
  14. Joe Buckner - I wish I knew ........... is just sensational (IMHO). (check out the full length track on another WWW media).
  15. The below was on J.M's auction for one day and then disappeared it seems ? Ethics - Lost In A Lonely World / Now Is The Time - Vent 1009 https://www.raresoulman.co.uk › ethics-lost-in-a-lonely... The fabled "lost" Ethics 45, so hideously rare it remains totally undocumented and we can assure all, that this 45 is the only copy we have ever seen. Anyone ?
  16. One here...................... https://www.raresoul45s.co.uk/lucille-mathis/a/53555/
  17. How about the following CBA's - for sale or sold ? Marvelettes - Beechwood. Valadiers - I found a girl. Eddie Holland - If it's love. Martha & Vandellas - I'll have to let him go. Miracles - Mickey's Monkey. Any demo's of the above ?
  18. Be careful on this one if you really want an orig copy. JM no. 5 guide Original... matrix reads A-72869-13 with a scratched virtue directly opposite. The original is thick heavy vinyl with a noticeable dip a centimetre (give or take a mm or two) from edge of centre hole. 2nd press (legit?).... matrix reads A 7Z869 - B points to note in the matrix are the 7 resembles a reversed F and the 2 resembles a Z
  19. Originals - Ritz Manchester (Richard's 50th). Willie Tee - Cleggy Weekender. Chris Clark / Tommy Good - Northampton Hotel. Bobby Patterson - Fleetwood Weekender. Roy Ayres - Dunstable California Ballroom. Bobby Taylor / Carolyn Crawford - Birmingham Q Club. Patti Austin - Blackpool Int Soul Fest. ( would loved to have seen Dee Dee Warwick / Deon Jackson - don't believe they ever made it to our shores ?)
  20. Great shout on this - forgotten just how good it sounds. Was due for a UK silver chess release on CRS8051 (B side to Day Tripper) but nobody has ever seen a copy ? Mick Smith said "never released". But Hey ! Ho ! who knows (remember D.B. on London!)
  21. Personally: for me it is the Philly Devotions - but what do I know ? Great piece of Philly Soul IMHO. So maybe I'd be the only person on that wedding dance floor or anywhere else for that matter. Would not be the first time either; I love being "that only person".
  22. One here........................... https://www.raresoul45s.co.uk/jimmy-james-and-the-vagabonds/a/24278/
