  1. Lads, thanx for the info. I believe the STOP label is Seventies; or does it cross into the Sixties? What year is this release? I am also being told that this is infact a very expensive no. What price does anyone think? Copy I saw for sale was a white demo - do issues exist? Cheers.......... Tom.
  2. Hi all. Can anyone help on this please. Mark III - Peaceful, lonely, free. (STOP) I have this on an old sales CD and really like it. I cannot find any info on it atall. J.M. has a Mark III "45" on STOP 1512 entitled Should I believe you - BUT it doesn't quote the B side. He has it listed, but does not have a copy for sale. Is this the "45" I am looking for ? Cheers.............. Tom H. Banbury.
  3. Everyone must have a favourite with regard to the Hammond Organ. I love all the Earl Van Dyke and Spencer Davis group stuff. It has had such a massive influence on music in general imho. Twenty years ago Mick Smith played me Jack Hammer - Ode to a discotheque {UK Polydor only?} and this has a fab slab of Hammond in it. What are your faves....................... ?
  4. Now here's a thing! Been collecting UK Motown nearly all my life (and I ain't a youngster anymore?) Why no TMG 525 R/W or TMG 755 G/W and there are a few other later ones I believe. Even Mick Smith has never seen a 525 and I reckon a 755. Had them all a few years ago BUT never these. ALSO; some peeps reckon 514 was a R/W credited to the Detroit Spinners and not just the Spinners. Not sure of this as I have 523 R/W as Spinners and sold my 523 R/W Detroit Spinners (diff release dates on these); so no real reason to make the same mistake earlier with 514 I think? What about MW5002 Demo [orig release]; never seen a proper "A" demo of this. I have a factory sticker demo and have seen white single sided demo / test press with release sheet {stating problem with label production} so maybe this was the problem? I am sure there are other UK Motown related labels with missing demo's - SO TELL ME ABOUT THEM.
  5. Well would you believe it. Was at the Rugby AllNiter last Sat and Phil Shields was there [see post before this one]. And guess what he had to play for me.............. Geore Jay. It sounded absolutely brilliant. I am sure it will go down a storm at the Orwell as you have a very receptive crowd there. Hope to start hearing it more when out and about. Cheers.............. Becket.
  6. Thankyou to everyone with their replies so far. Great opinions and great info. As I started this, I feel it necessary to mention one of my faves............... JUST BE SINCERE. Love it to bits. Becket.

But I am sure you knowledgable peeps now loadz of great recordings on ALL of these. Cheers................ Becket.
  8. What happened between Berry Gordy & Jackie Wilson - does anyone really know? What would have happened to his singing career and what Motown releases would have been destined for him? Quite interesting subject really I feel. What do you all think. Cheers........... Becket of Banbury.
  9. Agree Baz. Yes a great logo for a label. Especially if you are interested in Quantum Mechanics also! Very topical considering what is happening at present. LHC and all that............ Thanx for all the info so far: I am sure there is more out there to come? Becket.
  10. Hi everyone. Really interested in this label's music. What I have heard is great with mid-tempo harmonies to die for. There are some sound clips already on this site, but quite a few releases on the label [which I will add below] . Possibly some duff releases also. You peeps know, so tell me about them. Most people know the Commands great double sider on Dynamic 104 (I only have it on BackBeat) with its fantastic Picture Sleeve. I personally LOVE TO DEATH the George Jay 45 "say that you love me". Just wonderful stuff. Recently listened to the Little Jr. Jesse 45 "ain't no big thing". A great version, but probably really obscure? I do have Doc & Sal "cry and wonder why" on Dynamic 122. Heard this a few years back when Shifty had one for sale. Took me 18 months to turn one up. I wonder what their other 45 "can't get you offa my mind" is like. I have seen this for sale a couple of times, so if it is brill will kick myself for missing it! I remember someone on ebay recently from the San Antonio area selling possibly 4 or 5 on the label and there certainly was some interest, especially with the Little Jr. Jesse 45.
