  1. people should use their own common sence with guide prices take off about 40/ 50 % as most records on the scene are only vg+ and the price is for mint records take off the 20% vat there you have the proper value why is it that records on the northern scene only tend to have a small % off of the guide price for being vg+ and not the suggested 50% in price guides like record collectors?
  2. I have the oc smith on a 12" shadybrook i think
  3. send him a message with your paypal address on and get him to pay direct rather than via ebay
  4. Thanks will check it out and add to the next Amazon purchace
  5. I have seen these on Ebay.com , they are a collection of cds featuring duke and peacock tracks on cd , just wondering if they are legit and good sound quality as they cost quiet a lot with shipping and i cant find then available in the uk. I have started to collect the labels and have about 40 45's on it but want to hear ones i cant afford or find , If not are there any uk releases for these labels thanks in advance
  6. How hard is it to list both sides of the records? , it just means you have to type a few extra words in the listing which may help the sale if someone searches for the other song on the site
  7. Have you played it yet? Be awful to find out its a mis pressed record lol seriously congratulations on finding it
  8. Do try and sell them in small soul packs with a mixture of other things in them. I tend to buy this way as it gives me cheap records and also things i wouldnt have checked out myself
  9. I tend to buy at the lower end £30 max these days , usually prefer to get small packs to save on postage or just collect certain labels that i can get 90% of in my range or cheapies that are not on cd. There is a bit of money out there but most people wont look for stuff they dont know or is not a 100 mph northern floor filling stomper as a lot want stuff to dj with
  10. three have gone through ebay recently , cheapest was £11 most expensive £35 , just been pressed with harlem rumble on flip as well
  11. What a great collection of british for sale , sure alot will be picked up
  12. check his completed listings , getting good money for old records with copies of original labels on them
  13. providing you are not breaking the venues licensing agreement then it is no one else's business , As long as there are no issues with gambling etc that the venue would get into trouble for then its fine but knowing my luck I'd get a woman with bad tattoo's wearing circle skirt covered in patches that likes ruby andrews with a collection of tunes worse than mine
  14. If you hire a room for a party then it is no business of anyone elses what you do in it
  15. According to radio times its from 2005
  16. There are quiet a few white versions of the canadian label if you do a search on google then choose images
  17. I Think it happens on the breaks / funk scene but dont think mixing of northern tunes would go down too well
  18. You would have to get a deposit equal to the cost of the records , just in case they got stolen lost or were not returned ;) Insurance is ok you may get the money value back but some of these tunes are unreplaceable
  19. May have been chewed by someone
  20. I have bought a few that look like they may have been
  21. To bring in a "named " dj with the originals costs money , plus maybe travelling expenses etc , to get a young kid playing boots costs next to nothing as they will do it to get to dj or £10/20 , more money to the promoter and the majority of the dance floor doesn't care
  22. If you turn up with 20 mates all willing to pay a fiver and put the best part of a score over the bar there is a good chance the promoter will give you a spot even if you play yhe slipmat
  23. the delbert and the stewert sensation sold on ebay in feb for £137 , strange world of northern soul
  24. buy some boots , start your own event , become a promoters mate or alternatly buy some good records , make up a cd or tape of some of them ( dont put all titles on there or full versions to stop people buying them before you can play them after your hard work of tracking them down ) , send tape to promoters locally to you , ask to do the warm up / graveyard shift at events you attend dont think you will expect to get the 10/11 o clock sets to play a load of classic oldies etc but remember there is a lot of you dj at mine i will dj at yours type of deals done so the promoters can keep more money etc
