Would that make the new tune issue with a B side containing a previously released tune an original release? and what would be the ettiquette spinning the B side in this case? you can spin the b side but flip it over and the soul police will have a warrant waiting for you when you finish your spot. It happened a few years ago with the porgy and the monarchs release , the flip side was covered up as the peppermint men

probably because people dont care unless its a dj thing how many radio stations play all of vinyl ? people still listen If it is free people dont mind , if they pay then they moan if someone is djing from pressings they moan especially if they want to dj themselves

Probably a daft question but why do a lot of funk tunes reference a "Jody " in the vocals , is this refering to someone or a slang name for someone ? , seems to have heard quiet a few with it in for it to be a coincidance

The trouble is that i am used to record collector grading / values where vg is valued at 50 % of mint , ex 75 % of mint , if a seller uses vg as his 2nd grade it doesnt always register as i dont go through every sellers listing to see the grade ruling they use. If i see a £50 book priced 45 for sale in vg i automatically think that the guide price for this is £25 , therefore i am not paying top guide price for a 45 in lower condition even if it using a different system

Didnt someone run a lead from the decks and record a big name dj's set( unknown to the dj) then go on to offer acetates of the rare/unreleased tunes a while back

You could buy 5 copies for less than the auction value and hope one is ok and still be better off

duke browner crying over you , much prefer the instrumental , not sure if it is because i heard the instrumental first choker campbell come see about me is a great instrumental of the supremes vocal if counting cover versions is allowed

I sold everything I had over £50 except for 2 tunes ray pollard soul mate and dennis robinson and the original tams wings for my baby. I now collect cheapies and labels such as rictic duke curtom etc where a lot can be picked up for a tenner or less , buy a soul pack here and there ,the odd album and cd. Just because the records i buy dont cost a lot it doesnt mean they are not very good , Just they are unknown or very common. The music will always be available on legit cd , cdr , mp3, youtube etc. John powney and des parker both regulaly list stuff for sale that is no more than about £20 and i know if john lists something for £30 i could get more the next day selling it on if i needed to. The desire for unknown music is the thing i like , not knowing what i am going to hear till the stylus hits the record as others wont play it as its too cheap

Don't all dj's have a mate who carries their lp play box anyway who gets in for nowt ? ;) Spend £70 on one of those record bags on wheels , can get the lps in and a box of 7"s
