Ah ok I just went by the YouTube videos that said the lowrider cars were big scene in South America Sorry but thanks for clearing it up

Low rider refers to.the modified car scene in South America where they alter the suspension so the car goes lower. The music is often slower or the b sides of songs known on northern scene There are a few documentaries on YouTube

If you want it next day pay for next day delivery. Makes me laugh when people say I've been looking for a copy of a record for years then moan about it taking a few extra days to get there

The tonny hymes is a 60s type slow track , I meant the Frederick.hymes was played more in the modern sets when it appeared rather than in the oldies dj sets

Fredrick hymes was said to have been booted but no one has ever come up with a copy for the price of a bootleg. It is a modern version of the same song released by tonny hymes which is a slow version. As said above all came from brooklyn born in the USA. Rumours of a yellow label release also but this was most probably down to a poor quality scan or photo

Wouldn't they press up a few extras anyway in case of breakage / damage when doing a specific number ? just in case a few got dropped / knocked over before the event

Pressed at the same time.from same plates but over the amount requested Unless you know about the secret markings on the official.ones then you will never know. Its not going to be easy to prove it but probably not the first limited edition release to have more than actually stated

They are all in demand under the radar going to go big anytime now when they are selling them When you sell to a dealer they are unpopular / crap / unknown/ failed plays though

There's less and less good dealers out there, now with ebay sellers and cheque book dj buyers prices and conditions are being exagerated It used to be good but 2 from the last 4 purchases I've made have gone back or overgraded

It's not bad in the sence of tainted love / what synth style that became popular of him with soft cell It's not a northern night tune but still ok

Ovo is there for the purists and for the old school djs to keep them relevant on the scene and to stop younger people taking the dj spots . Playing oldies means they dont have to buy new records to keep up Vinyl nights are for people who dont care about the history and want to.be djs playing whatever but see them superior to cd / mp3 playing djs but everything is available on a Carver for 20 quid or so so.they dont have to spend a fortune. Mp3 / cds are cheaper / remastered and dont have any background hiss so some say they sound better. It just depends on your view and budget Top 500 on original vinyl = cost of a house On bootleg / reissue vinyl about £5000 / 7500 On CD probably about £1000 / 1500 if you bought them when they came out maybe less if second hand cds On mp3 collection from ebay / etsy / dodgy soul night trader £10 / 20 So it depends on the budget to what format you get the music to play But in the end they are the same songs

If you are worried about a particular rare track and dont want to damage your vinyl then you can download it from YouTube with programmes easily Nero is what i used for burning but had a programme called sonix before that

People accept poor grading just to own records and chancers get away with it as sending back is a hassle and who knows where another copy will come from. The state of vg records these days is abysmal so this lowers the bands for ex etc . Only a minority of records will be mint etc after 60 years of playing them so will be top price. Most others ex / vg+ but a lot have been hammered at soul nights etc over the time Its headings like plays mint except first 10 seconds or has cue burn for first 4 rotations that take the Mickey. These should be classed as vg but as the price drops to 50 percent dealers wont do it

It can be a lottery. Nobody knows it can mean its sold as a super rare unknown recently discovered Or it's crap and nobody will touch it I've seen tunes listed for £100 on an expensive dealers site which sold when Jm had copies for a tenner

Download some of the great mixcloud type podcast things from the likes of pete smith or ian levine with lots of unknown tracks mixed with classics Plus there are lots of live tapes that get uploaded from.past venues that have been recorded Or there is YouTube to download from
