Apart from the actual ones that did make it e : "do I love" Baby Hit and Run" "Ghost in my House" and so on? Tonight I have played my Ric-Tic Collection and related Golden World, Wingate and there are some true Motown City superlatives Just the 1 opening piano note on Real Humdinger still send shivers, but I have picked 2 .. in 2ND place for tonight only RIC-TIC 102 "Take me Back".Freddie Gorman, true class and always a popular Dance tune. My No1 is the excellent Teresa Lindsey with "It,s Love" on CORREC-TONE 1053-A this record always its my soul and would be in my Top 100 Soul records of this week? it,s a young Van McCoy Classic, reasonably are enough to warrant getting played again "A DTHEDRUG REVIVE 45" DAVE KIL<.

There Really Are Two Scenes.......a Million Miles Apart
dthedrug replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
THERE IS ONLY 1 SOUL SCENE, AS YOU ALL KNOW, IT,S A GROVE THING?, AND WE ARE ALL SUFERING FROM A STRONG AND OVERWELMING OBSSESIVE CONPULSION WITH BEHAVIOUR ISSUES. Consider the facts we are all addicts we yap on or cant wait to tell someone our new stuff, most have ad some involvement with chemical misuse, and as some Sage informed me when e was blocked on Caps and Blues "its a scene of lost soles" that's why we relate to Soul music so much as we are empathetic and respectful to each and everyone we meet? remember Sounds Of Unity and Love, Right on, and Keep on Keeping on!. The Spirit of 69 DAVE KIL -

This Will Come As A Big Shock For Some Of You
dthedrug replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Nice one Pete. £307.01 41 RECORDS, I know what I have won, and what I missed, I suppose the question should include, :- the following are you (not personally) treating EBay as a Auction or as a nice Shop where you buy all the Top Tunes?, Do you sell records on in Pete's case it should be a minimum return of £6K if you are so you should not be broke!, Are you bidding when you are stoned If not why not? (just Joking). And can you afford to have something just to say you you have had it? we all wish we still owned all the records that we once did. and so on I am very confidant that I could sell any of my purchases for double what I paid, and 5 buys would make me £150 on each of the purchase, All in All this is a great site and when you get the result back you can see nice pics of your treasures or stock. 5 Stars from me Pete well done. Hi it,your favorite Hammer who live in Sunny Wolverhampton! Yes got to get it in first Wolverhampton 0 A Big Fat Zero the lovely lads from the EAST of London 2 a little duck, all I can say at least we showed you the way by the first of many Right I have been a fan of R S since the Twist of 73 Torch T Wigan, the VAVA, he was always well spoken sort of grammar schoolboy type, remember the with shiny satchels you just wanted to push them of there racing bikes you know not that I am suggesting Richard is a merchant indeed he is not, From a young kid he had a good business head, and he is in the top tier of northern soul hall of fame, I only listen to his show a few times, and he was a very good presenter, my personal favourite radio DJ was DAVE EVERSON, however all my adult life there has been issues with playing black music on the BBC, Mike RAVEN the Late Great Alexis Korner who worked with in the 7ts a very special Man, Andy Peebles, Stewart Henry and ROSKO, ALL TRIED TO PUT SOUL REGGAE ON THE RADIO OVER A PERIOD OF 4 YEARS.. and what do you get Tossers who buy there way in to our scene talking about Mrs Woods at the Casino what that rude old bag who ripped your money out of your hand I never would of known her name, and if they do play Northern Soul in the 7ts meaning, my hates are and you always see it in every NS documentary "we have people come here from ehh Lands End to the Tip of Scotchland" even Adey "Horseradish Bro" has utter these crap words, the other is 3 before 8 my fucking lord save us Dave Everson and Eddie Parker dave its not a very good record mate? wheres this leading to, do a petition to Radio 2 and we could run a Poll on Soul Source that we want Richard to represent our music on the Radio as our Music will be picked up again by the younger age group and he is clearly the person I would vote for, he is also decent at interviewing, Any way He has the mantle lets let them know. DAVE KIL A "HAPPY HAMMER"

These are great I must find copys? I used to sell Soul Cargo, Soul Time, Hot Butterd Soul and New Soul Time in the Bar at the Casino? I thought I would just mention this..Now I cant see the relavance in making the point? Time for Bed I think?? DAVE KIL

That,s right John but there was a track listing, so in theory you could of made a Dub plate with the tracks on, that,s what I would have done?, shame the scan aint better as we could of at least done a CD + any way I would have loved this? and as I say who would think 39 years later it woud turn up?? DAVE KIL

Pete I have lost my Boxing man?. £75 for a Demo? did I miss something was it knackered, this record has always been a hard one to own. I know it suffers from the same fate as Tami Lynn on Atlantic however this is just a tad rarer these days miss T L demo £80-100 the Tams well I would want £70 for a Issue, Demo I need so its hard to price in fact the HMV label in gen is a hard label to price, don't you think so? DAVE KIL

The PAMA label has always fascinated collectors over the years, I remember in the early days when I got my 1st cope of Eric Barnett - the Horse on GAS 01, I was hooked on the label, Nu Beats Greatest Hits was a LP to be seen with, but why was there no Escort greatest hits? has always been muted about its existence, in the same way as the Volumes on the PAMA label? Well for those who missed it on EBay 2 weeks ago! here it is in all its glory. Now was there a Punch Greatest Hits, and surly the Volumes does exist? DAVE KIL.

4 Copies I have just the 1 the first one? can the others be copied? as until I read this I always thought there was just the one? mind you I stopped going to Wigan in May 78? as it just was not the place to be anymore, however its amazing how many people started out on there soul journey in 78/9 and they are still supporting the present day scene so to them it was still the best place in the world? DAVE KIL.

Hi I meant to reply to this article? but it finished as quick as it started, What I wanted to say was in the early days of hunting down N/S finds and the new biggie. as most of the older collectors know, there were no price guides as such, I am not sure when Findagroove came along? (I will dig it out some time?) but we all looked for little give aways written on the label. this was the best way of not going home with every 45 you did not know? one of the clues was indeed Johnny Rivers as a writer. and it still is worth checking him out, This is perhaps my favourite of his maybe not his best but it still sounds fresh in 2009, as I have not learnt how to put record sound clips on yet? here is a scan of my Demo. I can strongly recommend it to all on Soul Source! price wise, about £5-10 but you know what happens once a tune gets spun DTHRDUG say,s buy it know while its a Birdie. DAVE KIL.

Sitting In The Park - Billy Stewart Or Georgie Fame
dthedrug replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
I thought it would be a good idea? to "show the rabbit to the dog"..I still have my original view point, however have you actually played this recently? and appreciate there is only one way of owning it is on a rare UK Demo, than we are talking Rare records!sorry about that! I have spent to long on JM site to-day aahhmmm! no what I mean? DAVE KIL. -
Your standards must be high, this record is so the WHO, listen to that loon drumming its sh-ere class, the WHO could play tunes like UNDER MY THUMB all day long with basic instruments, off course its not soul? but as a beat group I amvery glad that I saw them live and the Kinks class bands that hit my soul? DAVE KIL

dthedrug replied to Gasher's topic in Look At Your Box
Did you no that so do I? and also I used to be a Roadie for Mike Patto R>I>P DAVE KIL -
Ila Van "cant stop" and the Fugitives "Human Jungle" and I think? but not sure Footsie the original Simon S mix were all 1st played at the CAT This does not mean that I understand the earlyer comment as Ian discovered so so many records he is ruled out as also PEP and Mick Smith and indeed any of the inderviduals who went to the USA to find stuff. and yes I no PEP never went to the States? but he is a good bloke! a Robber but a Good Bloke? DAVE KIL

I had a few top sounds in 74 including Sandra Philips "world without sunshine" on a gold issue Broadway I use to get them from Mr Anderson (the Scotchman) at Soul Bowl, still have a few lists, not being pedantic but when you describe a record as his or he played 1st is not my view of the scene? please explain this rule for me please? maybe its because I am a Londoner DAVE KIL
-
How about my settings Mike? especially problems of making attachments? and when I make a posting or a reply the format is like an old typewriter how do I reset my PC to the way it used to work on SOUL SOURCE? DAVE KIL

Yes Dave Godin, was an academic, his knowledge was always delivered astutely as a quite sage, maybe his ventures into the modernistic world of the 6ts added to his manner? "Wisdom" that's the word that describes DG "and then some". DAVE KIL

Dave Godin good bloke, however the way you are talking about him you would think he bloody invented "Northern Soul"? is he dead? I know a lot good gossip about his coke habit? when he stayed in a Blackpool B&B, and could not get a cuppa!tea?what the f**k- and there's More DAVE OF THE WORLD
