Been plowing throught Blues AND soul mags ive been lent and it truly is fascinating read especially from the vava niters to the beginning of wigan and all the venues of the day claiming to be the no.01 one major part for the northern soul is frank elsons 'check it out' column invaluable info ref events/venues of the time and the playlists of the day how important is frank to the history of northern soul,,is he still alive,,active on the scene anyone know? as i said fab reading...still only half way through best mark

====== id pay £101 lol great record u know hears a little story ,not very interesting but linked to this topic. pete told me about BB and i was watching out for it and in the meantime got a live tape from wigan circa 78...and there was this instrumental on it and i swear in the middle of it someone s shouting summat like 'mark freeman' ..and at the end of the track russ announces that was 'lockes theme!' ...how weird is that.... see told u it wasnt interesting!

====== got mine for £25 from Sean Chapman but i would have payed £50 for it,,, played it at the marrs barr allniter last year too,,still sounds great... got the gallop too but never play it ,,might wait until my instrumental allniter takes place not played the bside of ronnie forte ,,must give it a spin
