    In the 1980s soul scene for a short time the only allniter s on a Saturday night were at Cleethorpes they not northern Soul but modern soul and new releases 100% different to what I was into but as i was a hardcore niter goer made the journey several times with Richard jakeman and often see Mick Pipe and others on the train from Leicester ...much to my surprise absolutely loved them uptempo modern soul really hit the spot along with Adams spots at oddfellows and Robin salter at Stafford and.dave Thorleys mecca spot upstairs at top of the world it opened whole new world to me..
