  1. Excellent, that's answered my question, thanks fellas.
  2. The group say that the New Image version is a complete re-recording, but what I'm really asking is did it see any Northern action in the 70s or would any interest in the record from Europe have come from the "rare disco" scene of the time.
  3. I've had some info that this was re-recorded as New Image due to European demand. I think New Image was still in the 70s so I doubt if it was Northern/Modern demand, more likely the UK and NYC disco DJs who were picking up on obscurities in the mid 70s. Can anyone confirm my notion? Ady
  4. Rose will probably be in the next batch but Darrow's project will take a little longer so forthcoming but not imminent. We want to create some demand first and give the record a good run out. I'm sorry I've never heard of those labels
  5. I'll mention it to the sales geezer and see what he says Pete; thanks for the compliment to the firm. My take is that they're not perfect but with the info, scans and pics make a great package to indulge in. I rarely get a chance to play vinyl at the moment so they're grat for me. Our sales are holding up very well indeed in a shrinking market. Licensing, syncs, publishing, vinyl and downloads all help but its the CDs that keep us going. ady
  6. That be Candi Staton inviting you to sample here wares. I didn't get the Darrow reference, he ain't on here! Cheers Ady
  7. Will do Dave, thanks. I wondered who I'd sent them to!
  8. Can anyone supply me with a high-res scan of the sticker on the cover please? Ta in advance Ady ady.croasdell@btinternet.com
  9. All CD folks
  10. Yes, Masterpieces Of Modern Soul Vol 3 CDKEND 364 out at the end of November Ta Ady PS The shorter version we issued on Loleatta's CD was actually the proposed 45 version for the Galaxy flip that didn't happen.
  11. Nice one Bob, I'm not up to date on Armenia but that's rather cute. I'm guessing there's an enclave in California somewhere and these are the all-American descendants of the original settlers? Volume 3 is out at the end of November, I'm writing the notes today! Ady
  12. To anyone in the Leeds area?
  13. It's more glamorous direct from Japan.
  14. Nice one Dave, just the job. Cheers Ady
  15. I know we've been into this one in great detail, but can anyone tell me what the version that Kent and Grapevine (presumably they're the same) originally came out on. I think it was a P-Vine vinyl LP. Title, catalogue number and date would be very handy. Ta Ady
  16. Good offer accepted Ta Ady
  17. It's a very good point. Melba wouldn't have got anything for the promo as it was an agreed deal to promote the track for its future release. It certainly worked as the 45 has been out on at least 4 or 5 different labels, catalogue numbers or re-presses and has notched up a lot of sales for which she would be earning royalties. So Horaces and later Kents would earn her the moolah, but 6T3 or whatever it was, made those possible. For a regular release I think there is a percentage limit on the number of promos you can issue compared to the amount you press but don't quote me. Ady
  18. £500 ono Played once each side. Cheers Ady
  19. Not at all as rare as was supposed then Ta
  20. Thanks Mace, i knew it was one of 'em. Incidentally a couple of years ago someone told me my Johnny Colon 'You Gotta Love Me' was so rare on Cotique that nobody knew it was a 45. Is that right or am I gonna be shot down in flames? Ady
  21. Anyone know what this one sells for now? Is it the Joint side that gets spun?
  22. Funnily enough I didn't remember the anti-Jeff King campaign by B&S. Soul Sounds was his second label and was an interesting variety of coloured labels. OOTP were black and white and came from Selecta Disc in Nottingham I think.
  23. I'm not disputing those events Terry but I went all over the place and there were loads of very bad boys but I can't remember once seeing a fight let alone knives and guns. I never once felt the least bit intimidated from my first nighter at Kelmarsh, me with shoulder length hair and 100 skinheads I'd never seen before several from Corby which was as tough a town as you could wish for! There was a lot of togetherness, it was a tiny movement and if you were in it and dug it you were accepted and welcomed. At Kelmarsh this skin girl said "It's nice to see some weirdos here"; and that was a complement; I think!
  24. I wonder if it's a remix or anew version on Garpax If anyone has MP3s I could compare Thanks for the help Ady
  25. Are they different recordings of the same song? Ady
