  1. If it's the one I'm thinking of Margie Singleton was a cover-up name I gave it years ago.
  2. Wow, Phil kindly sent me sound files of the record and it sounds like it was from about 2 years earlier than the Gold Token, totally different, and is given a much more R&B treatment. Sparser but very catchy and gets a good mood going. The Gold Token's pretty rare so I'd be interested to know what RB fans in particular might think of this if they ain't heard the later version. I think it's gonna get Ebayed soonish. Ady
  3. That's a great find, L A soul continues to amaze. I'd love to hear both sides of this and know more about her. Ady
  4. Though a lot have left by the end, there's always a very good dancefloor for the last few records and I'm sure that everyone who is there makes that effort to catch the last of the action. Actually Den it is very much like the footie thing where you can't believe the home fans are leaving 5 mins early to get away quicker. My mates missed 3 goals in a 3-3 draw when we came back from behind with Arsenal (one of Bergkamps most famous hat tricks) by leaving a bit early.
  5. Though I sneak out of nighters I'm guesting at an hour or two before the end (due to being bolloxed), I'm always surprised at people who leave about 5-5.30 when they're nearly at the end. Apart from it feeling like a bit of an achievement (silly I know), it's a very emotional time for me and I'm sure the regulars who hang on for the end and probably the best bit of the nighter in many cases; or perhaps it's just me being soppy and the satisfaction of having had another good night.
  6. Oh, yeah, it worked the 3rd time I tried, just now. Ta
  7. Sounds good, but I can't get it from that link. Ady
  8. Moody sod, I'd been going since 1974 and always spent a fair bit with him and got on very well, then ten years down the line he accused me of bringing my record box in to nick stuff; I wasn't gonna leave it on the pavement outside. He nearly got lumped. I never went back. Got the first Jimmy Andrews out of there for $3
  9. Thanks Tabs, I think you're right. I'll have to check when I list any more. Yep Saturday was good and great to see you as ever. Ady
  10. My listing isn't allowing a foreigner to bid. It says it's on Ebay UK only. How can I change this please? Ady
  11. Thanks everyone, most helpful. I went for the Swanflight 100, the records will be safe now as long as I don't get pissed and leave them on a bus! Ady
  12. Can't find a decent one on Amazon or Ebay Ady
  13. There have been 79 schools of thought on the George Jackson issue and it's been on and off ever since it came out. However ony rouce and Dean Rudland played it to George when they met him and he said he wasn't on lead but is on the backing vocals, so he's there somewhere. He couldn't remember who the lead was. We press 400 copies of the single approx. I agree with Russ about the Judy Clay and also believe its flip, Johnny Taylor's version of Please Let Me In is magnificent too, both sides could go massive one day.
  14. Kent's memory ain't the best but I'll ask. I had a feeling the guys in the photo were just local chaps who looked cool, not particularly musicians
  15. Oi, Russ didn't play a CD set, we didn't have one set up.
  16. It would depend on the crowd that was in and the theme of the night and the history of the venue. I'll be playing a different set at Lifeline to Sunday night at Cleethorpes.
  17. That's the one, I think Sam was playing it recently. Has yours got the BT on the flip? Mine's an uncatalogued one with a funky flip, not sure if they're the same version.
  18. Is it biggish for Sam yet? Should I spin it at Lifeline or does anybody else play it up there?
  19. Could anyone loan a very good or better copy to Ace for dubbing please? Ta Ady
  20. My mate Denbo just told me about how a big downloading type company was claiming all sorts of copyrights that hadn't been claimed by anyone else and was getting them registered as owners on You Tube to get the revenue from them. I was worried this was related.
  21. No worries Bob, we don't need them for the current project. What the hell's this about? How can a company remove an image they don't own the copyright to? The label design and wording is owned by Kent Harris.
  22. I don't think any of them are Aileen Frances and the Francettes, it was some wrong discographical info. I think it's either or. Would love to see your alternate Besche design Bob
  23. One last try, there must be a few copies lying about. Ady
  24. Thanks, but that's the only one I don't need!
