  1. No it's the Pied Piper Productions from Detroit, some of which came out on RCA, Kapp, Karate etc. These are mainly unissued tracks
  2. Hi J, We've got masters on them and are planning a release, I'd love to see a scan of the labels please. We have a T K Hulin track I'm Not A Fool Anymore out from a Huey Meaux Texas session. Ady
  3. This song also came out on Romark by Jimmy Preacher Ellis Ady
  4. Oh, that's what you wanted to know! 1297 according to our database, the single's too well buried to verify.
  5. I'm pretty sure he's only the presenter of the programme so he shouldn't have any editorial content; though his memories sound more inaccurate than mine and I was smashed.
  6. I've got that nice r&b jazzy thing, possibly white.
  7. This is an MP3 edit of one of Lorraine's unreleased Pied Piper recordings. It will be released on the forthcoming Kent Pied Piper CDs Hopefully it'll play OK, I ain't done this before. Ady Lorraine I Hear editz.mp3
  8. Old school thread; 13 users and rising. Let's get heated.
  9. Well that throws a completely different light on it!
  10. It's been pressed twice because the bootleggers are greedy scumbags who don't mind depriving Lou of his royalties that we pay him when we legitimately release his recordings. Do him a favour and wait for the Kent Select release which we're negotiating with the Aberbachs, he's had a stroke and could use the bread. Or buy the whole 25 track CDs with many unissueds and a stunning alternative of Unsatisfied as well as this one. The notes and illustrations are superb too. Ady
  11. Take a chill pill Rich, the poor chap's gotta earn a few quid for his Brum CWs (train spotters special). What will have happened is that a production company will have been given the brief to do a bit on Northern and will have scanned around for a name with some history in it. We've established that he did a bit of time and actually liked the stuff. He's got more credentials than Stuart Maconie whose only real connection was that he was from Wigan; spurious ain't in it. Anyway I think I'm on the prog and Elaine's pushing her film on it and also I believe on breakfast TV with said train fancier.
  12. You leave Rick Astley out of this Missus!
  13. Hi Dave, That link doesn't go to you just to Earthlink. Send me your email and I'll fill you in on the Walter Wilson on Wand discovery. Cheers Ady
  14. Great stuff, I'm sure there are a few others who would benefit from some back royalties.
  15. No it was discovered in the Kent haul of RCA tapes in the early 90s and came out on the acclaimed Rare Collectible And Soulful pair of CDs. Loads of great unissued RCA and Pied Piper on there. Is it a vinyl boot or a proper re-release? It would have been nice to have been asked about it!
  16. You did, she did a set of her mum's recordings, a great singer in her own right but with a definite strong similarity to her mum's voice.
  17. Spot on poem and I'd heard about the comedy but didn't know the full story. He obviously had the balls to deliver the humour we all knew about. I'm sure you and the family are rightly proud of him Jess Ady
  18. The handy thing about the 100 Club nowadays is that it opens at 10 so you can just treat it as a late night out and when you leave you won't get derided like home fans sneaking off after 70 mins when they're 3-0 down. If you can get a cheap nearby hotel, just knowing the bed is in striking distance will give you enough energy to go on later than you thought you could last. We ain't got one in Feb, due to a mix-up on booking dates, it's Jan 28th and March 24th. Cheers Ady
  19. Well the guys from Salt & Pepper were pretty happy we put their 'Man Of My Word' song out to the public and they got some money for it. Now a few thousand instead of a few hundred can hear it and in better sound quality. I doubt if it being on a £6 Kent 45 will damage the value of any originals. The alternative is for collector's to keep it in their own collections until a bootlegger comes along; which usually doesn't take too long. Ady
  20. That's great reading Mick and I remember your mate enjoyed his first nighter at the 100 Club and said he'd be back. Ask the National Sales Manager if she's got any photos of her time as an original mod. What year did she start? Ady
  21. Deaf shurely: hic!
  22. I I doubt it as this is very different and would have created quite a buzz as this did at the time of the CD release. One play would give you the answer. Ady
  23. Blimey, I feel exhausted reading that. As well as Must I Holler on the Chess CDs was the Radiants 'Hold On' which one punter berated me on. The Terry Callier 'Look At Me Now', we actually sussed out and said alternate jazz version or words to that effect. Those CDs are probably well worth checking on as we weren't comparing to the 45s then.
  24. Come on you 12" fondlers
