  1. Andreas was very helpful with regard to our O C Tolbert project
  2. And of course sold as originals at very high prices originally.
  3. Two singles on Decca, one came out on Parrot as Fearns Foundry, that was the second Decca single which I guess is on the Podcast. Under the proper name of Fearn's Brass Foundry they cut that and Don't Change It which I put on a Kent UK soul LP especially so I could mention my local in the sleevenotes
  4. i think it was because it was discovered to be on a rare UK pressing which drew attention to how good it was. It had been neglected on Atco before that. Ady
  5. Fearns Brass Foundry was from Market Harborough so it must be good.
  6. I'll send you the sleevenotes to the Gettin' To Me CD that featured the track. PM me your Email and I'll send a scan of the acetate amnd Lieber Stoller sheet music to. Cheers Ady
  7. I know a good one! Seriously though has anyone got their mailing list?
  8. No, it ain't her, it's gotta be a scam.
  9. You're on the ball Dave, congratulations, you make my job a lot easier.
  10. Spot on Tim, lovely song and performance let's hope the sound recording doesn't have the pillow talk on it. Ady
  11. The Dumas 1208 is titled Love Hides All Faults and Little Arthur is probably Arthur Wright (I'll find out for defo) as he wrote the flip. For a label with about nine 1964 releases I'm surprised none seem to be in the price guides. Ady
  12. Ain't heard it but one of the songs was co-written by Azie Mortimer, could it be her? Ady
  13. I'm rather interested in who the first listed producers Paul and Doc were. Surely not Armen and Bernie who are listed on the second label, perhaps writers and possibly? group members Stephenson & Willis who are listed on the second label. Recorded in Canada too eh (and only Happy Days and presumably Trying Real Hard and not I've Changed), anyone know about that?
  14. I'm up for Widow Twankey, if you'll be Wishee Washee
  15. Quite recent, he has done the odd gig every couple of years but this is the first since he has really started collecting new sounds to him (and many to us), he played me a couple down the phone and they sounded great, I know he 'll keep an eye on the floor too of course and has plenty of class better known things too, so it was a bit of a no-brainer. It has the added newsworthyness of it being a big plus. Get yourself down there, it'll be nice to see you in happier circs than when we last met. Ady
  16. Hopefully we'll have a few promoters down there checking him and Marcus out.
  17. No I did a mail out in t'middle of t'night.
  18. DJ/Promoter confidentiality clause Pete
  19. 6TS are pleased to announce a return guest appearance from Ian Levine who has not graced our decks for 12 years (he informs me). He has been bitten by the collecting bug again and has a host of new discoveries and rarely heard soul sounds that he is itching to share with like-minded souls. Knowing his professional reputation, I had no hesitation in booking him to entertain and elucidate in equal measure. Our second guest is Marcus Hjoberg one of our many younger regulars who like 75% of the crowd is a collector and DJ too. He comes to nearly every dance and knows our music inside out. He knows what makes a dancefloor tick as he is on it most of the night. Then there's Butch, Keith and me. None of whom are retiring and one of whom has swung extra shore leave from his job drilling for whiskey in the North Sea. I hope to see you down our hallowed stairs on the 28th Ady
  20. Thanks Bob and Steve to whomsoever gets it to me; no rush at all. Ady
  21. I'd love a scan of the Enith Ernie and does anyone have a scan of the pic cover 45?
  22. One Love Not Two came out on LA label Enith first, I think I mentioned it in the notes for the Manhattan Soul CD KEND 347 that features Walking With Pride. There may be other bits in there. Ady
  23. Hi Mortonette, Don't You Care Anymore is one of my all time favourite soul sounds. Your timing and passion are superb throughout but when you sing the line "Who are you saving your love for" it just cracks me up. Ady
  24. Not really, i'm out of touch with prices, they're very scarce so I'd have to re-listen to the masters to give you an opinion. Ady
