  1. I remember this thread when it was one post old! What's it going on about now?
  2. Impulsive that's me and not scared of splashing out big on a top sound. It was more than a tenner!
  3. Thanks Steve, someone else has PMed me they're checking too so I'll have the first one that is defo. Cheers Ady
  4. I'd love to buy an excellent copy please
  5. One for the southern soul fanciers
  6. Possibly yours don't Bob but there are certainly copies on both labels saying featuring Terry Crispino.
  7. Whoops, sorry it was North Bay and as its her backed by a choir I'd be pretty sure its the same lass. The B B is more doubtful as the titles are Deck Of Cards and Blues For A Soldier but I can't see a Philly label putting out a record by a different Louis Williams when she was such a well known radio name back then.
  8. Actually Bob my Wand one does as does the Curtom copy on here. Ady
  9. Found it, it looks very interesting and super-rare!
  10. There was I thinking he was a lass, thanks Steve, what's the LP on? The listing for the 45 has no matrix number so maybe just another scheduled release that didn't happen.
  11. Or seen it? Ady
  12. Hi Bob, I've just seen there's a Terri Crispino 45 listed on Wand 11240 too.
  13. She had a release on B B in 1966 and Phil L A of Soul in 1972 too Steve
  14. I actually emailed her through the House Of Representatives but ain't heard back. Possibly as a high profile religious minister and politician she doesn't want to be reminded of her time as Lois Lane!
  15. Yes we've actually got the two recordings from multi tracks but there's never been a matrix number added to the listing so I think it's one of the 45s like Judy Clay I Want You or Bettye Lavette Happiness that never happened.
  16. Great, thanks John and we can now add that she is Philly singer Louise Williams, Jimmy Bishop's wife at the time of the recordings (and possibly later too).
  17. There's a good R&B/early soul 45 on Wand but also these other two listed that I've never seen. Any help appreciated. Ady
  18. Thanks folks, I think the consensus is early 80s for serious spins. Feel free to enlighten further. Ady
  19. I'm guessing Stafford era though I'm sure it had been spun out before but not that popular until the mid 80s?
  20. I'd love to see the papers, I enjoyed that last one, I was talking about licensing and bootlegging rather than any sociological aspects. The speakers were good and though I didn't agree with them all on everything, which ain't ever gonna happen for any of us, thought they came up with some good observations which I might have missed from being too involved in the scene. Though not total outsiders they gave that sort of view and approached it analytically. It's not for everyone but doesn't hurt anyone and won't stop the ravers who just want a good dance; like all of us at the appropriate time and place.
  21. Anyone help out with this little beauty? Ta Ady
  22. It sounds like a Clay Hammond or Z Z Hill US Kent track to me but I can't spot which. Any suggestions? Ady
  23. Excellent, from a first glance it looks like the song we're putting on the next Scepter Wand Manhattan (released!) Soul CD 'Who Knows Better' is unreleased.
