  1. I'm sure I've got it somewhere too Theresa. x
  2. Lightweights! The Macc Lads have been an ever present as a two/three chalet/van gang along with Hinckley, the Rileys of Notts, East Anglian mob, Beds bunch and the Keogh clan of Lancs. Them and all the other regulars are hugely appreciated. Ady
  3. I've done a few but my memory isn't what it was
  4. Yes it was mainly jazz and sometimes blues in the 60s but plenty of beat groups too, I think the Animals had a residency there for a while
  5. Tony Smith 1's wife to be Jet was behind the bar. I just told the boozers to buy 4 pints at ten to three and stick them under the table
  6. 1 am start first, later put back to 1.30 after the jazzers moaned. We rearranged the room before opening the doors. One night we had a battle with a gang from Acton inbetween, Mick, Wid, Roger and I saw them oFf, didn't even need Randy for that. I don't remember bananarama, jo boxers and shane mcgowan from the pogues were the main celebs who attended regularly
  7. That's it Bob, a scan of Xmas Day would be great. Ta. 101 seems tough
  8. Thanks for that, if anyone speaks to 'em soon could you ask them for me please? Ady
  9. Sorted by Jules for 102 only need his 101 and Detroit Jr now. Thanks
  10. There are 2 Paso 45s Any help will be rewarded! Ady
  11. For the vindscreen?
  12. I like Jean Carter, though it's a little too poppy for my tastes it's undeniably a brilliant mid 60s dance record. However Antellects I adored from first hearing, it stands out immediately with its own original sound and is solid atmosphere, I didn't know it was rare when I first heard it (I can be very dim that way) and struggle to imagine how it can be described in this way; each to his own though.
  13. I think its an old boot, the seller may not realise
  14. Missing catalogue numbers with no known records as far as I know; I just wondered if anything had turned up since the last discogs were done.
  15. I only know it from a discog at Ace, never seen it or heard of it.
  16. And does anyone have Gary Branch 'Mayaguez' on Clintone 015?
  17. Do they exist? Ady
  18. Super night, see what happens when we all turn out and get stuck in! the DJs many and varied talents certainly helped but you're always going to get good DJs trying hard in that venue so the main thanks is to the enthusiastic crowd especially the dancers. A special thank you to the multifarious Scottish contingency who were right in the thick of it. See you back there in July for the Cleethorpes gossip and a line up of Ted Massey, James Pogson, Keith Money, Joel Maslin and me; something for everyone. Ady
  19. 100's on the 6th and my fave mid-weeker Majestic is on the 4th. I'm sure there will be other volunteers. There are still record shops on Hanway St, in Soho and Camden, just ask around. Ady
  20. It sounds like we got the slow intro and you got the stompy dance bit. Great thanks
  21. He was very keen on murdering people too, witnesses included. Since John contacted me about this I've gone through our Joe Hinton tapes and been very pleasantly surprised. There are a lot and some are stinkers which I think I heard first which coloured my impression of some of the later stuff that is actually very good. Many are mis-titled including 'Find Your Star' which is 1 1/2 minutes of MOR ballad which doesn't sound like you would have played it out anywhere excepting a tea dance. It would be very handy to borrow your copy (again!) and if anyone has a VHS or DVD of the film, all the better we can try and piece together what the soundtrack would have been. There's plenty of good material.
  22. The Cleethorpes Weekender is 100% on and has not had any problems in the slightest with the venue or management thereof. Some totally fictitious rumours, obviously started by small-minded mischief makers, have no basis in fact at all. Tap to view this Soul Source News/Article in full

  23. The Cleethorpes Weekender is 100% on and has not had any problems in the slightest with the venue or management thereof. Some totally fictitious rumours, obviously started by small-minded mischief makers, have no basis in fact at all. I was recently alerted to this so felt I should put the record (OVO of course) straight. I'm always upfront in my dealings and would not be doing this if there was the hint of any problem to sort out. Everything is going to plan and I'm even up to date with bookings and balance letters. Bettye Swann and her niece are really looking forward to the whole experience and the show will be scintillating. It will be the same brilliant event that it has been for the past twenty years so if anyone tells you differently, advise them to get a life. PS Nor is the event sold out yet as has been reported, there are still weekend passes and Saturday Night only passes available. Details on www.6ts.info Ta Ady Ady Croasdell http://www.6ts.info
  24. Well one question would be who did it? It's highly unlikely they have the rights that belong to Pied Piper which Ace/Kent controls for Europe, or have paid the publishing. Another question would be how did they get the recording, I don't think Butch normally passes them on.
