I wouldn't agree with you there Robb. Apart from Othello Robertson I've not come across an Era black music recording that wasn't in-house. They are usually Herb Newman songs so he controlled it very tightly.
This always gets 'em going.
Billy Watkins, Othello Robertson, Jesse Davis, Stevbe Flanagan on Era.
I really wanna know who broke 'em rather than who spun them first I suppose,; both would be interesting though.

Yes Timmion licensed it from us for the vinyl LP release. We put it out on Dave Hamilton's Detroit Dancers Vol 3 on Kent and The Detroit Funk Vaults on BGP. There may have been an acetate or two floating about in the 80s, it's one of her many great unissued Dave Hamilton tracks
They had a weird release on Era distributed by Happy Tiger around 1970. It was Jewel Akens and Eddie Daniels at least. Dos anyone know anything about them?

It's actually a big campaign and has been a good shot in the arm for Ace/Kent and Ann and Dave' s relatives as well as Darrell Goolsby who co-wrote it. Many thanks to Gilly who got us this deal 20 or so years ago, it's been beneficial all round.
No that's Stuttering Sam and You'd Better Know Why-Set My Heart At Ease/Could It Be respectively. I think this is a unique track but am prepared to be informed otherwise.
Tomorrow will see the 100 Club debut of a rare piece of metal. I've been playing a carver of the amazing Voodoo Madamoiselle but have now got my mits on the original acetate. Power to the Pied Piper!
