    Thanks for all the responses people, I'd still love to know of any other Dave Hamilton credits like this one. I know he was involved with the Chalfontes on Mercury which like Inky Winky was a co-production with Andre Williams are there any other, particularly for majors? Also he was signed to MRC publishing for a while and the Chalfontes is the only place I've noticed that but I haven't been looking till now.

    Thanks, I've seen that side but not the flip or any sound on either. Dave had a productive career from the late 40s onwards.

    Well thanks Pete! We're not at our most illuminating this morning Soul Sourcers, where's Rob K when I need him (asleep)? Speaking of which I also found Dave and hi Peppers credited on Solid As A Rock by Bobby Lewis on Spotlight. If anyone's got that I'd like to hear/see it.

    Bloody hell-fire, I never knew Dave had co-produced it with Andre Williams. It was one of the first Northern Records I ever danced to. Am I dumb or is it so well known nobody bothered to mention it? Maybe you shouldn't answer too honestly! Ady

    The Story of Northern Soul Writer and cultural historian CP Lee explores the strange world of Northern Soul music, which first came to Britain in the early 1960s. This underground cultural phenomenon was driven by a love of black American artists who had failed to make a success in the USA. Contributors include designer Wayne Hemingway, producer Ian Levine, DJ Jo Wallace and Stuart Cosgrove A few there with very big gaps in their CVs. I don't think this will be too comprehensive of the last 45 years; maybe that club in Wigan will get a mention. I'm not bitter though.

    Anyone know what it's about? I tried to watch a Honeycone vid and it came up first. I didn't skip after 5 secs and watched the whole nearly 2 mins worth and its an amateurish collage of obvo Northern and vintage photos of venues and dancers etc but I can't see why its up there and who would pay for it as there doesn't seem to be a product to flog. The only funny bit is seeing a record shop with southern Northern DJ Ady Lupton looking through the racks for no obvious reason.

    Scorching set and super night. Top dancer was Fish Ain't Biting and top record Fascinations Just Another Reason. I never thought I'd get a chance to dance/sway to that at a club. That's why majestic is #1 for me

    It must have been just after that Ian Clark and I found about 6 copies in a New Jersey shop-similar number of New York In The Dark. It was a massive sound and I sold mine to Ginger and Sam at St Ives. I thought it was George's but they were cheap so it may have been the one in Plainfield.

    That article was a bit of a puff piece, I've still got an inkling they don't think the Festival release was them. I'll ask, would be simplest!

    Have we ever ascertained who these Flirtations were? My memory gets worse but I know the Old Town Flirts reckoned it wasn't them despite the Sid Barnes connection; I think they thought they'd left for England by the time it was recorded though it's very hard to date the Festival releases.

    Soulful Detroit reports that Deon has died. It's a tragedy that he was only 68 years old. I know many promoters would have loved to bring him over for a UK performance so that we could tell him of our appreciation of his superb music. Sadly that will never happen.

    Anyone got the 1980 release 'Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide' 7" or 12". I've never seen or heard it. Is it the same Slimline as on Prelude, it's the same as on Diego 12" Ta Ady

    Thanks Chalky, I'm still interested in whether there was any 7" or any version of Neither One Of Us. I think the listings of any Superbs on Renfro are unlikely. Happy to be proved wrong though. Ady
