Not definitely, Dave worked with people from around the country on occasion. It may just be a demo he was sent, though I have a feeling it was with some others, I’ll check on Monday. It may have bee ln his studio but unlikely as it was his small home studio by then I think
The Jubilee sides are both Hattie Leeper’s Chattlee publishing like most of the other Appreciations sides. The ‘It’s Better To Cry’ 45 sides are New York production teams - Phil Medley producing one and publishing both. Blake and Nieves were his NYC writers
That was Val Palmer
Eve was a 100 Club and Stafford regular in the 80s. She ran some nights in or near Bristol late 90s/early 00s. I guest DJed for her
Any kind soul got a copy they could send me an MP3 of the flip only please? 'In The Back Of My Heart' condition is irreleveant as long as I can hear it. A couple of new 45s for your trouble.
Cheers
Ady
They didn’t use the male demo of bc Carla Thomas I’ll Never va Stop Loving You; probably because they don’t know who it is or who wrote it - likely to be the same person
Sounds like Dave Burton who had a terrific haul from a guy who worked for Warners. He brought a chest of promos to Dave’s Harlequin record shop in Berwick St. sold Fuller Brothers to Minsh and let me have Bolan Chance on Bunky. There was a Cooperettes and many others
The P date on a release refers to its first commercial release not the year of recording ( or when someone first found an acetate )
We didn’t number them intentionally
He flogged me an original acetate of that (I thought some of his acetates were dubious). Is the flip the same do you know- and is this the same as the Sutter apart from the title?
Many apologies
CANCELLED
100 Club Nighter Dec 10th 2022
Due to Ady screwing up the dates, we’re very sorry for such short notice and gross stupidity. If anyone has incurred any irretrievable expenses, please contact Ady at ady.croasdell@btinternet.com or FB message.
The Christmas party on Thursday Dec 22nd 8pm-1am is unaffected and will definitely go ahead.
Additionally, though unconnected directly, we are cancelling the April and October all-nighters planned for 2023. The recent big increases in security costs mean that even with a socially great nighter like the last one, we lose a substantial amount of money.
It’s a case of use it before you lose it again people. We’ll be selling anniversary tickets at the February all-nighter and nighters thereafter until they sell out. That worked a treat at boosting attendances last year.
Thanks for your support as ever, it’s been an astounding year musically and a couple less nighters will hopefully guarantee bigger crowds at the remaining ones.
