  1. How about it? Anyone seen or heard any of these? Ady
  2. The Safe release is n his latest guide so it must have come out on one of DJ's little occasional label. Thanks
  3. GarethX, Whaddya reckon to Bobbi Row being Don Julian and the Larks? i know you've got a copy.
  4. Actually I've just worked out who they are from the LA Vocal Groups book; all will be revealed in The Soul Of Money Vol 3!
  5. Thanks again Bob, I'll try and get a clip of it and the flip to you once I can sort the technology. The lead isn't at all high so possibly not Charles.
  6. Thanks I'll give it another listen with that suggestion.
  7. I can see why on a cursory listen somebody thought the two songs were similar but I agree that they aren't. Lots of LA group's were trying to be the Imps not just the Larks.
  8. Really, they sound very white to me, where did you get that fact from Bob?
  9. Thanks Chris and Bob, that's put that one to bed. Presumably no one knows of a Larks version of Why'd You Put Me On Ady
  10. Bounce. Anyone got the Autographs?
  11. Ooh you bitch!
  12. We found a nice unissued early 70s tape of this group in the Money vaults titles If She Wants To Go/Shady Lady i can't find anything on them but I'm guessing they weren't the Your Love group which I think was out of the Carolinas? Any info gratefully received. Ady
  13. Are these two the same b/t or at least same tune? Why'd You Put Me On Love Is Gonna Do You In I know thw Bobbi Row is credited to Don Julian but did the Larks ever record it? A sound clip and or scan of the Autographs would be good.
  14. Agreed Chalky
  15. If they'd got a better copy it would have to be a master but they would surely say where it came from and what the story was. i suppose they could have digitally reinhanced the boot which is more likely.
  16. Val ain't tough, just mardy.
  17. I'm not sure how they licensed an unknown acetate without finding out who the label or producer was. You or I could have licensed them it but it wouldn't make it legal. I'm pretty sure there's just the one original copy.
  18. As we've got a billion rats in London, I'm sending this to Boris to re-introduce weasels to the Smoke.
  19. Yep Furys and Mack IV label geezer but not MWIOF that's a different chap.
  20. There isn't one, but we're working on it. One or of the licensees are tricky.
  21. Has anyone got a copy I could see a scan of please. I saw it listed for £150 recently but don't remember where. Ta Ady
  22. I think this is the unreleased master really titled Anything You Want or sometimes titled Any Way You Want. It was written by Sherlie Matthews and until we put it out correctly on the first Volume of the Mirwood Story, she didn't get her songwriter royalties.
  23. That's one we're investigating, but Fred Smith productions and Mirwood weren't neccessarily the same thing, Keymen was not part of Mirwood, as far as we can tell and those Fidels etc that came out should not have happened. As for Goldmine, I think they licensed the material from Simon Soussain; which, given the info on the other thread, would make you wonder why trust such a rogue!
  24. And of course the Goldmine CD had some misinformation on some songwriters, titles etc.
  25. Joe, I found a contract with the Accents names James and Willie Johnson, Robert Purdue and Robert Cornelius. Ring any bells? Ady
