  1. The Frank Minion on Vik that I play is 1956 I think and at West Hampstead we used to play Fats Waller Your Feet's Too Big but not for a proper dance more a group hug at the end of the night.
  2. I agree and the other Van McCoy non 45 LP track Wonder What My baby's Doing Tonight is utterly brilliant too, i speculate as to why it was never a 45 in the notes and Maxine concurs to an extent.
  3. At last it's the proper Wand 45, and it's funny that all other reissues since copied our audio and made exactly the same mistake. This is the first time the right take has been on CD. I Want A Guarantee is purposefully a quite different equally good vocal take to the original that we put out as we thought it deserved an airing. Why Did I Choose You is a very good dancer that has never been heard before.
  4. French Fred the mod
  5. I like the office where I can spy on everyone on CCTV! The bar's been particularly interesting recently.
  6. Sorry Torture didn't appear on an anniversary single, just a Kent one. Have another go.
  7. No they were passers by who decided to punch Winston, which was a bad move all round. I can't remember the Ion incident at all but I hope it happened. Putting off a tricky bit of work so I get that adrenalin rush when I realise I'm about to miss the deadline.
  8. You call it "listening to a track" now then!
  9. OK then Feb 26th is International Soul Source 100 Club Threads Day.
  10. No but your site name is.
  11. I had a monkey on the 3.30.
  12. Just played Ace's discographer Peter Gibbon's copy of Floyd Barber on Symbol, it's very good but inbetween so many styles, Northern, mod R&B. Has it ever had any plays or action?
  13. Sharon Scott and Judy Clay and the Devonnes
  14. No it was Don't Jump Off The Roof Dad by Tommy Cooper or possibly Jack Douglas' version of Swanee River " Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy down upon the Swanee River"
  15. I once threw a bloke up the stairs in an altercation with a gang of mainly mad women, he was surprisingly light; but I had been provoked.
  16. I would have thought the Roseberry Ave do but not certain. Was the E&C do in a warehouse on an industrial estate?
  17. I think they deserve to be!
  18. Is this the first time some fool has nabbed the first 4 threads on all about the soul for a club or any topic?
  19. Thanks Andy, yes plans are afoot for Right Back etc but with changing licensing ownership sometimes they get dotted about other newer comps.
  20. blimey, that's good news about Ian. Taffy would have been pretty young when he was DJing at the 1981/2 ones, he's younger than us and i was only 29 then. actually now i think about it Jodie Daly was well fresh when she first hit the stage.
  21. Will do, hopefully both eventually.
  22. We did the early pre-100 Club years and will have a 100 Clubber out for the 30th Anniversary. Sony BMG are also doing their version with me for the series they do.
  23. JJ Barnes It's Alright To Cry Sometimes unissued Ring.
