It's unissued but out on a CD in late October so you can get it then and cut yourself a disc to play if needed. Ady
  2. I hated letting people know before hand, but at least it'll be done in time. The flip's a corker too so everyone will be very happy.
  3. Now just to be a pedant I saw the show (I think unless I've convinced myself I did!) and it was a magazine type show hosted by Frank Bough and it was he who said it after they had cut back to him in the main studio. Later revelations about Frank would lead me to believe that he may well have done it for the craic or even crack. If you did see the show and got the double entendre it was the equivalent of Kennedy's assassination as to your whereabouts. i was in a student hall of residence near St Pancras. Now back to Tim's arse.
  4. At a nighter recently one excited customer invited me to join him in the conveniences and be filmed country dancing with him for a new tv show which I believe was to be called "come line with me".
  5. Night Bloomin jasmine is quite groovy in a 60s LA way but I doubt if either will outprice the stomper.
  6. You're sorted. You might have to skip having Alberquerque in your collection!
  7. i wouldn't have either if I wasn't researching Era; don't beat yourself up!
  8. They might not have even noticed. Dig your copies out and groove to the supper-club jazz of Night Bloomin' Jasmine if you're lucky. Cheers Ady
  9. Jesse and Diane have just sent me scans of a test pressing and a DJ copy with a full label of Era 3187 with Night Bloomin' Jasmine on the flip not Albequerque! Neither of the main guides mention this release they all have the later 3189 Albequerque version. 3187 was actually also a release by New Scene so presumably Jesse's 3187 was withdrawn, the flip switched and re-issued two numbers later. Looks like you original collectors will have to trade up!
  10. Thanks Baz, I got the Plus 4 in the end, I'm working on the theory they were someone else! The Smoke thing is a separate query to the GWP one. Cheers Ady
  11. Weird it seems to be a one off unless anyone else knows who Golden City productions were? Thanks again
  12. Hi Bob, that's interesting, I'll let you know when the first arrives on the doormat. Ta Ady
  13. T'rrific, could you whack up the flip too please. I wasn't expecting Horace Ott.
  14. OK on this now Charlie Rees has one under his stairs!
  15. Anyone got one for a loan please? CDs in return. Ady
  16. I could now use a minter or Ex of this for a dub if anyone feels like lending it and wants some CDs as a thank you? Ady
  17. OK on the soundclip it's in Refosoul, any chance of a scan or just the label copy BAZA? Ta Ady
  18. It's getting so bad I'm having to do my own work! I found the New Yorkers 'There'll Come A Time' on WB is a GWP thang, anyone got a scan or clip of that one pleeeeeeeeeease? Ady
  19. Fine by me folks if Miles' has done a legit re-release in the US. It would have been nice to be forewarned though!
  20. I think it ostensibly licenses the records in Canada, i would be amazed if it had licenses for the very many and varied sources releases.
  21. Thanks Chaps, i know that one from the Pied Piper angle, it was odd one-offs like Willie Williams, benny Gordon, the Plus 4, Alice Clark etc that i was checking out.
  22. Sorry Mr Zimmerman, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
  23. Actually Macca he was self-educated working class I think his dad was a milkman or something similar. It's a common assumption that such an educated person would be at least middle class but the socialist working class in particular took great pride in their learning and reading. You would have enjoyed meeting him, I'm sure.
  24. I'm not sure if that was aimed at anyone in particular but I hope I'm only guilty of that. The only knowing misleading I ever did was to initially have some cover-up names for some unissued tapes to prevent people either boot;legging them or applying for rights before we had had a chance to get them out after conducting a lot of research and hard work on them. Subsequent events usually proved me right to be cautious, the Mayfield Singers in particular being an example of how some people would nick a sound if they could. Funnily enough I've just done 6,000 words on a sleevenote for the anniversary singles CD that explains why the Magic Touch was originally credited to Jackie Day for that very reason. Unless the excuse was being paralytic I'm not sure how you could mistake 3 tracks for 6 or get the name of the CD totally wrong and make a fuss about it plagiarising when it clearly wasn't.
  25. Hi Shane, That's good news, it was a big enough gaff, I'm sure Dave would have been delighted. He had many interests which he pursued with the same vigour that he did Northern Soul in the early days. Ady PS Tell your mate to check the attic, just in case!
