  1. Yeah, multi tasking. Yes Little Sister 'somebody's Watching You' great record.
  2. Sly Stone, his sister Rose and his cousin Latanya (or something similar!) Well that was the group that backed a 17 year old Gloria Scott in 1965(?) as she just told me.
  3. Thanks Rob, I'll be there as long as the sickness bug that's got me up at 3 am doesn't do for me!
  4. it has been mentioned but it'd cost a lot so may not happen for a while.
  5. And on our new Jackie Lee CD we have his previously unissued version of Roy Head's Treat Her Right, a bit of reciprocal song covering there!
  6. Sherlie Matthews lived with Vanetta and worked in OZ for several years too. Lemme know if you see an ad for Jackie Lee at the Torch, i can only find them as a duo. ta Ady
  7. I actually bought a copy off Juggy it was one of the few things he had left.
  8. There were the Sensible Soul all nighters we've had a separate thread on, one was at Roseberry Ave in Clerkenwell, not far from Dickens' house; but I think it was after he's moved.
  9. Not for definite but they were also a Juggy recording so highly likely. Cheers Ady
  10. Not for definite but they were also a Juggy recording so highly likely. Cheers Ady
  11. Or just as Bob & Earl following the 1969 Harlem Shuffle re-release hit?
  12. Thanks I didn't know the lasses name
  13. Thanks Keith, that puts it pretty certainly as a Jackie Lee record then. Cheers Ady
  14. Thanks Keith that's the one I meant, if you play oth sides does it sound male/fmale or male/male. The Soul Harmony book had it down for a female duo so i can guess it's gonna sound quite that way.
  15. Barry White said it was him and Bob Relf, Jackie Lee said it was him and a girl? Anyone have the record or know for definite? Ta Ady
  16. I think it may have originated from a bloke with a dodgy syrup in one of the countries in North America. He used to sell a lot of Island soul to old West Indians who went mad for this track.
  17. I had a yellow dj copy same as the issue with "dj" possibly "not for sale" as well; in black ink, very unassuming.
  18. We're checking the CCTV today Rob. Really sorry to hear about this. Ady
  19. Two good sides Steve. Whadya reckon to the Clare Bathe tracks including the unissued. Quirky but good in my book.
  20. I know I'm biased but the Spring CDs I did for Kent were some of the most enjoyable I've done. Lots of great cheap music I'd hardly heard before. Act 1 and Mayberry Movement are all great.
  21. You tell 'em girl, and a damned fine job you did too.
  22. The girls are recording 5 of their best this afto in downtown Maida Vale for broadcast at midnight on Friday night (technically Sat morning!)on Mark Lamarr's show. This is a prelude to their big Crossfire appearance at midnight Sunday night (technically Mon morning!) but due to unavailability there's no brass on the new recordings, though there will be at Crossfire. The group is also headlining at Euro YE Ye in Gijon in early August.
  23. And Sherlie ain't Shirley Matthews on Atlantic, I think she was a Canadian.
  24. I wanna see a scan too please!
  25. Ignore this please, sorted now. Ady
