He mentions his first comedy partner being a top dancer from Wigan in a funny quote in the Guardian today and i found this on the site
"My hatred of ballroom dancing is in direct proportion to my love of pretty much all other forms of the art. In the 70s a good friend of mine from Southport Art College had been one of the Kings of Northern Soul at Wigan Casino. When he moved to London I would occasionally accompany him to all-dayers at the 100 Club on Oxford Street. My uncoordinated flailings on the dance floor were the least lovely aspect of these events but nobody seemed to mind, and I was always happy to be there simply because I always found myself so moved by the unselfconscious beauty and energy of the other dancers. There was something about the choreography and the avowedly working-class nature of the whole thing that always made me want to smile."
Anyone know who his mate was?
Yes but listen to it and it's a totally different voice that sounds a lot but not totally like Jerry. Dave and Jerry were very close but if it was recorded in the U.K. Was he visiting in 1968?
At some point I got told this was actually Jerry Williams and not Chris Jackson. Anyone know where that info came from? It certainly sounds a bit like Jerry and nothing like Chris but it's also reported as a UK recording which is possible.

Matt will run the May and November dates.
After the disappointing turn-out (though a rather splendid dance) for the July nighter this year and a general drop in attendances in general, we’ve decided to cut down the frequency of the events.
We do have an additional 6TS on tour date at Pete Hollander’s Springfield all nighter in North Wales on 27th January and there will be the usual couple of Crossfire nighters, but the rare Northern Soul scene can’t support a nearly-monthly all nighter any more.
Depending on the crowds we will adjust accordingly next year; you come and we’ll run them – or not.
Many thanks to all those who have attended, it’s appreciated more than ever nowadays.

Terrible news, he had his chirpy smiling face on at Cleethorpes on the Saturday, I'm shocked. A Cleethorpes stalwart with his band of merry folk since the first one. He used to visit the 100 Club regularly too. I'll miss him greatly
