  1. Whatever Simon told John, i doubt if Kent knew about it as the credits have all been changed and the publishing switched, it seems more likely the tape came from the owner of Ebony who belatedly claimed the publishing.
  2. Thanks Paul, I used that in Vol 1 but let me know if you come across others. Ady
  3. Hiya Paul, it's a Dave Hamilton recording that came in about three different versions, none of them released. We put the most finished one on the first CD and also on a Kent 45 which is now deleted and probably quite hard to find. It was originally played off acetate but i think the acetate may have been cut in the 80s. Cheers Ady
  4. Macca, don't try and decipher what he's saying please. It's bad enough once.
  5. Well that's livened things up then.
  6. Fantastic, that's almost his biography!
  7. Did you get anywhere with the mag job ma'am?
  8. Now you're talking; membership cards are the real McCoy. You had to have them, they weren't a gimmick. Though why I never actually ever took mine to Wigan when they were so strict and you had to do all sorts of blagging to get in, I'll never know. Actually, same reason I can't find my cheque book now!
  9. It's a legit US reissue label run by Bill Buster and i think it's Penn. but not Philly
  10. They're naffer than the word naff. I expound on this theory in the sleevenotes to the forthcoming Kent CD 6TS 100 Club Anniversary singles, if you suffer from sleeplessness.
  11. Putting the kettle on.
  12. It's unissued but out on a CD in late October so you can get it then and cut yourself a disc to play if needed. Ady
  13. I hated letting people know before hand, but at least it'll be done in time. The flip's a corker too so everyone will be very happy.
  14. Now just to be a pedant I saw the show (I think unless I've convinced myself I did!) and it was a magazine type show hosted by Frank Bough and it was he who said it after they had cut back to him in the main studio. Later revelations about Frank would lead me to believe that he may well have done it for the craic or even crack. If you did see the show and got the double entendre it was the equivalent of Kennedy's assassination as to your whereabouts. i was in a student hall of residence near St Pancras. Now back to Tim's arse.
  15. At a nighter recently one excited customer invited me to join him in the conveniences and be filmed country dancing with him for a new tv show which I believe was to be called "come line with me".
  16. Night Bloomin jasmine is quite groovy in a 60s LA way but I doubt if either will outprice the stomper.
  17. You're sorted. You might have to skip having Alberquerque in your collection!
  18. i wouldn't have either if I wasn't researching Era; don't beat yourself up!
  19. They might not have even noticed. Dig your copies out and groove to the supper-club jazz of Night Bloomin' Jasmine if you're lucky. Cheers Ady
  20. Jesse and Diane have just sent me scans of a test pressing and a DJ copy with a full label of Era 3187 with Night Bloomin' Jasmine on the flip not Albequerque! Neither of the main guides mention this release they all have the later 3189 Albequerque version. 3187 was actually also a release by New Scene so presumably Jesse's 3187 was withdrawn, the flip switched and re-issued two numbers later. Looks like you original collectors will have to trade up!
  21. Thanks Baz, I got the Plus 4 in the end, I'm working on the theory they were someone else! The Smoke thing is a separate query to the GWP one. Cheers Ady
  22. Weird it seems to be a one off unless anyone else knows who Golden City productions were? Thanks again
  23. Hi Bob, that's interesting, I'll let you know when the first arrives on the doormat. Ta Ady
  24. T'rrific, could you whack up the flip too please. I wasn't expecting Horace Ott.
