  1. Yes performed live at Clarkie's Function At The Junction circa 1983
  2. Squash it, and it just springs back. Wash it and the colours stay fast etc. I know its common but I must have played the thing 500 times! (TKOs not Cyril Lord)
  3. My daughter just pointed out that the lead singer of the San Francisco TKOs is female. On re-listening it's blatantly obvious. Did anyone else think it was a bloke singing? I really must listen to the words a bit harder. I love lyrics but I don't always hear them thoroughly, certain bits jump out at me but I doubt if I could sing any song right through (apart from Champion The Wonder Horse and the Cyril Lord carpet advert from the 60s).
  4. Finally got to play the flip and it's ultra MOR but the same session and style as an unreleased one we have by them. Though it sounds a hundred miles away from it it's definitely the same group as Good News
  5. The pub at Kelmarsh's disused railway station in Northants. May 1969 The Esquires 'And Get Away'
  6. They were all by the same black group, Eddie Frierson, Freddie Waters and one other i can't think of at the moment, all Bob Holmes productions. They may have used different leads within the group.
  7. Dan certainly got me eddie Frierson's number and that's how Good News eventually came out. Thanks for the clip Simon. Ady
  8. I'd still love to hear the flip if anyone can oblige. ta Ady
  9. I woke up one Sunday morning to see Langham DStreet where I lived by the BBC in the West End covered in records. It took a few secs before I remembered that we'd played frisbees with a couple of hundred Major Harris (wrong title) on OOTP that I'd paid 1p each for!
  10. Could someone put up the sound on the flip or send it me somehow please? We've got an extended version from the master tape
  11. True Steve but it won't read well in the sleevenotes!
  12. Groovy, Acid Popcorn a new genre to work on. Presumably no writer details etc. Put us down for a proper dub please and whack an invoice into Ace Towers. I like it.
  13. 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, grits and pancakes drowned in syrup plus a quart of coffee.
  14. You tease! Owzabout a sound file or whatever they call 'em. PM if you wanna. Ady
  15. Apart from Ace's own Trevor Churchill, has anyone ever seen or owned a copy of it? It has a yellow label and no cover.
  16. How old? I was 26 when i started. They might pip me now though.
  17. Yes we're doing it where we can Sean. Should be a few of Joe's on there.
  18. Let us know the story of the single please and if they wanna have a legit CD release send them my details. Ta Ady
  19. Ace/Kent had particularly good sales figures. I'm sure it was people giving CDs and vinyl for Xmas. A download in your stocking ain't the same.
  20. That's great, thaNKS. aDY
  21. It's out on CD on Westbound's Detroit Northern Soul CD at the end of this month. Ady
  22. Sorry Miff, wrong group, the lot we're talking about recorded in Bangkok! They were in the forces posted overseas.
  23. Did anyone come up with a scan on this one, I'd love to see the label.
