  1. Super obscure Detroit release, anyone got a good copy? Ady
  2. I forget the artist Super obscure Detroit release, anyone got a copy? Ady
  3. Hi Phil, I don't know the Billboards at all and would love to see a scan or at least know the credits from the label please. Cheers Ady
  4. I know Jerry but England are a serious cricket team and can still nearly lose to the Dutch.
  5. One of the worst written songs ever; it's agony listening to the title being sung and wondering whether they can cram all the words in in time. In fact it reminds me of my favourite limerick There was a young man from Japan Whose limericks would never scan When told this was so He said "Yes I know" but the trouble is I always try and cram as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can
  6. You've gotta get it for the original to Tom & Jerrio's 'Boogaloo' alone. Brilliant rhythm and 3 years ahead of the game.
  7. Sketchy ain't the word, it hardly mentions Ellie being with the group, I got that from Wikipoos and T. Rounce.
  8. That was the conclusion I came to Dave and Andy, where is it documented so that I can state it as fact? The instrumental track is remarkably similar, especially the guitar solo, I reckon they re-cut the vocal only and did a different mix.
  9. I remember it as 50 but let's hope you were right, I could use the tenner. Are you from Corby or Kettering then? Ady
  10. Excellent and a K-Bee production on the boot, possibly Colin Bee and somebody who's name begins with K? Thanks very much Ady
  11. A tailor made or a boot or summat?
  12. That was probably the first play when i flogged it to him. it cleared the floor and I sneaked away whistling nonchalantly.
  13. I've just been told this won't affect our nights, so basically YIPPEEEEEEE! A new dancefloor was definitely being talked about. You've stumped me on the Cliff film Dave, I've never heard it described as Club 100 though. Ady
  14. Eh? The UK number is totally different Ady
  15. Thanks folks. Ady
  16. Anyone know what Ginger called it when he first spun it out? Ady
  17. This one just gets sillier. It was actually Val's US 3.20 version I was comparing to the 5.02 version I've got and thought it was the same singer with a different take. Is the UK one different from that too? Could anybody put it up in Refo Soul please and maybe a scan too? Bogue my US issue looks the same as yours except it doesn't have DISCO on it. It looks like Val's 3.20 one may have come out after the UK interest and release. Rats I've just noticed mine has the same 4219 catalogue number as Val's but is the longer version! HELP
  18. Sounds good to me, maybe I'll have to wear their plimmies when I'm on stage. I'd have preferred Sharwoods Chinese meals for two but you can't have everything.
  19. Stephane Yver has a great cover up on a well knownlabel that would be a 100 Club monster if only i could prize it off him (or track one down). I'm pretty sure it must be unknown; unless someone else is playing it c/u They're still out there.
  20. Thanks John and everyone else, I'm covered for the single now thanks. If you compare the US and UK singles John, they've edited the intro too and it sounds like a different vocal take.
  21. Hi Dave, if you mean the Kent singles, yes usually three or four white label test pressings, no promos though that system was abused long ago! It's Croasdell by the way!
  22. I have one of those I actually need the UK copy, perhaps Val Chunky will oblige, he put it on Refo Soul but it's not easy to compare accurately from there. Ta again Ady
  23. Yes I think the UK tape editors did everyone a favour, I like it but not for too long.
  24. Thanks Imogen, I had no idea it was big in the US, they did used to pick up on odd UK records like Camberwick Green. That would explain the US 45 release but I'm sure Northern DJs also broke it here, whether after the US lead or before I'm not certain. Ady
  25. 'Appen Mr Manship or Andy Rix'll remember the sequence of events then; ie what format it was first spun from (and made big from) Ta to y'all Ady
