  1. 3 more contenders added, I know Mark was coming anyway, Dave & Ted better tell me if they're free that night just in case. I'll stick more up if I know they can make it. I'd better ring Keb!
  2. It's possible our tape went from Memphis to Texas first but it sounds later than 64 to me
  3. You're in. It's Northern Oldies though, not your living room oldies!
  4. I'd say they were certainly Texas, they came from a Texas studio. Whaddya reckon You're So Good To Me as a dancer?
  5. Thanks Martin, she did like country but not that much. Ady
  6. Ta Gareth, Was there an O V Wright 'You're So Good To Me' or 'I Have None' on that or anything similar. Have you heard of them, not 45s as far as I can see. Sorry to switch singers Ady
  7. Hi Gareth, are there any other Oscar tracks on that series? Ady
  8. These two were suggested to start it off; I have no idea if they're available. Feel free to volunteer or suggest someone you think would be right for the job. Ady
  9. There you go Den, us Landan soulies like to help a scally out! I'm always keeping an eye out for a gaff for you but there's nothing going round here at the mo, unless you want to try being a Gigolo for a bit.
  10. No we can't now leave us alone!
  11. Are you sure Mark, I can't remember selling one and if I did I'd have thought 10 plus years
  12. Not exactly if it took me 30 years to dust off!
  13. To conclude the story of this piece of plastic. I mentioned it to a DJ at the 100 Club on Saturday, he immediately offered a very good price, more than I'd been warned to expect it would go for, and as I know he's a straight dealing kind of kid I said yes. I had been planning to put it up for offers on here but he who seizes the moment etc. The truly amazing thing was I found it the next day, actually filed and it was minto plus. It's gone to a good home and will get played out plenty so it's to everyone's advantage. I can't say who it was but it might get some chianti spilt on it this weekend. Ady
  14. Just tapes Phil, I made up acetates of Chuck for me and Guy H and just myself for the Chancellors Ady
  15. I had mine about 1980!
  16. Nice PMs lads but you didn't attach the photos of your sisters.
  17. I'd better get digging then, it's in there somewhere! Thanks Ady
  18. Is it worth a few bob?
  19. Yeah, he's got a box of unmarked tapes! Ta ady
  20. This one should be easy, it's either a guy or a gal as Jimmy Saville would say. Owzaboutthatthen.
  21. So it's as rare as they say!
  22. Presumably not the west coast songstress? Possibly the R&B geezer from Tuff Records? Ta Ady
  23. Does anyone, anywhere know of the existence of this single and who might have it? It's reputedly Arthur Conley. Ady
  24. Dean Courtney looks quite black and probably is Jock. Swap him with Dean Parrish. Ady
  25. This should probably be a separate post Bob but presumably you're talking about 'Sweet Soul Music' and onwards; I generally term that mid 60s onwards as there were soul related lyrics from 1964. But wasn't it used first in musical terms in gospel and then jazz (Booker T had a 1964 hit 'Soul Dressing') and I wondered what your take on it being adopted for a new secular vocal music from those two sources was? Ady PS Much maligned mods please feel free to splinter this off into a new topic, we don't want to upset any Javells fans (I actually bought it before it was played when it was still by Nosmo King!)
