the only "teardrops" i remember being played at droylesden was little natalie and henry with the gifts (what a dodgy name !) or am i thinking of a different song completely !!!

my very first nighter was at lough town hall. went with a lad who had no interest in northern at all just didnt want to go home at the end of the night when the pub we all met in had shut so he tagged along. He kept awake for all of an hour !

i too have got stafford tapes.(still dont know what keb darge was saying half the time) as you say great slices of history.At the time we thought it was a bit naff to do it but im so glad one of us did.There was so much new stuff being played and you just wanted to get to know it as fast as possible so you could get on that dance floor as soon as you recognised something.
