  8. i put that vontastics tune on a mix cd for a british friend who knows a bit about soul (more 70s), but he'd never heard it and it blew his mind. there was a dealer on eBay named "headbonedaddy" had loads of deadstock of them for like 10 USD. great disc.

  22. I regularly go to starbucks! i agree the drip coffee is pretty weak, but maybe you should try my drink: four-shots of espresso and about 2 inches of hot water!
  23. sorry - see if this one is better.... bands were really good. lots of originals and good cover versions of ... "sweep it out in the shed" "gonna send you back to georgia" "coming home in the morning" "he ain't no angel" ...and others most of the bands had dozen or so members - some had 5-6 good horns, 4-5 vocalists. really full, quality sound! and mostly youngsters (mid 20s) ...the point of the thread was to see if (over in merry old england) you had young soul revival groups like this springing up.
  24. going to see five soul bands from the west coast (california and one from portland). i am excited. will we see more of this? ps - if you are around santa cruz / south bay, come out!
