  17. My friend sent me this great video of the Beach Boys recording the song good vibrations. my question refers to section 2:00-2:10 where they show BOTH an upright bassist AND an electric Fender bass guitar being used. was this technique common (or ever used?) in soul recordings?
  18. yes! i started a thread on SS a long time ago specifically asking if the "Stafford sound" (which, to my limited knowledge would include many of the songs featured on this thread) was in any way related to the Belgian Popcorn scene. they seem to have a large overlap to me.
