Magnetics - When I'm With My Baby/count The Days - Sable
vaultofsouler replied to Sharlow45's topic in Look At Your Box
A bevelled edge is basically a "rim" around the outside edge.... distinctive when felt and also, usually, when you view the record by looking "across" the vinyl and looking the left and right edges of this flattish/across view.... Manny's 3rd edition boot guide states.... Bootleg is made in 80's style vinyl with bevelled edge, label is high quality paper with slight sheen. Original is heavy vinyl moulded overl abel, run out says 101 tm- 1931. Bob beat me to it with JM quote -

Wondered where you'd gone Danny.... or have you just been lurking.... And how come you've now joined as "HIRSTY".... Anyway.... hope your well pal ....
-
Thought the name rang a bell.... unfortunately it was from a past request of yours.... so I'm assuming you still haven't found him from when you asked just over 2 years ago If that's now nearly 4 years in total you haven't seen him, then I really hope you have more luck this time round ....

Absolute Classic Northern Demo Copy

Dates are on Mar-V-Lus issues also Steve.... One-derful also have date founded on.... -
Jimmy Robins- I Just Can't Please You
vaultofsouler replied to Soulsider's topic in Look At Your Box
I always thought the Impression issue was the "rarest/most valued" issue, not President .... Ian.... see above re rarest format.... Jerhart issues were either pale green (? differing shades) and pale blue (? differing shades), with or without the "logo".... Pale blue DJ copies with no logo "supposed" to be rarest of the Jerhart issues .... -
Cody Black - I'm Slowly Moulding - King Yd
vaultofsouler replied to Soulfuljules's topic in Look At Your Box
Studio costs.... time.... probably summat like that Richie.... There's actually a few tracks out there that "jump up" in volume after the start of the song.... seems to be more common than you think.... Jean Carter - I Bet You (Sunflower).... just one example of the top of my head.... -
Perhaps he'd read on here what you did to the Carstairs Pete ....
-
Sorry, my fault.... it wasn't meant to be an explaination of the "must have the right copy" syndrome.... perhaps I should have also stressed the "don't understand" was referring to the "what's the difference between copies" bit rather than the "must have" comment.... although you could say it's all one of the same thing ..... Anyway.... regarding the "difference" bit, or as you've now phrased, the "disallows certain records" bit.... again, if anybody, not just you, doesn't understand why some folk will only buy (must have) originals then they never will.... and no ammount of explaining, giving reasons, etc., is going to change that not understanding.... that's why I also said it was "down to personal choice" to finish the reply off with.... the choice being either you choose to buy only originals or you choose to buy any issued piece of vinyl with the tune on....
-
Would that be the rare Italian copy with Ace Spectrum on the flip.... plus the added rarity of the labels being reversed .... Salvadors on Atlantic and Ace Spectrum on Wise World.... now there is a collectors "double" ....
-
Paul.... according to JM boot guide.... booted twice as a demo.... Vinyl boot lacks the AT and an M in run out.... Styrene boot has only fm 10714 in run out.... Original Vinyl - has AT and an M in run out.... Original Styrene - has Delta #63296, FM 10714 AT and the Monarch stamp....
-
No offence but if you "don't".... you never will.... no point anyone trying to explain it.... Just go and read the many, many threads regarding "originals versus boots" to see what I mean.... It boils down to personal opinion and choice ....
-
You mean you've still not finished this "little" task Chalky .... And you with all that time on your hands .... Hope your well pal.... Keep it up.... it'll be complete soon ....

Complete Beginners Guide To Northern Soul
vaultofsouler replied to Goldsoul's topic in All About the SOUL
I reckon if just this bit of info had been included in the very first post, by way of an intro as to what it is about, then these 2 pages of "debate" would never have happened .... -
I wouldn't say inpatient like Reg is.... I'd suggest he had an enquiry with a bigger offer than the sale price.... no other reason to move it on so quickly after agreeing with you Joan IMO.... It's not the first time I've heard of this sort of thing on here.... "Money Talks" as they say....

Undecided As To Sell But Hey If The Price Is Right
vaultofsouler replied to NEV's topic in Record Sales
Probably more desirable on Atco with having the excellent "Let Me Prove That I Love You" on the flip.... two great tunes on one disc .... -
CD's.... alcohol.... and a wipe.... ....
-
Reclusive "summat" ....
-
Fookin hell Simon.... I was reading through the 1st bit of your reply (as highlghted) and then started nodding me head and giving you credit for still doing it when you was back home.... THEN.... I threw me mouth full of coffee all over the screen and keyboard when I read the second bit (also highltghted) as was in total disbelief.... It's took a couple of minutes to clean before I can carry on with >> "how the fook", nay never mind that.... let's say, errrr, "who the fook" have you blackmailed, or got summat on, to be able to "dish out justice".... Talk about the inmates taking over the asylums .... p.s. welcome home to God's County.... I think .... p.p.s. still ain't forgiven you for that photo on the Imber web site ....
-
This is not unknown Dave.... seen similar before.... Certain "glues" (and such) that are available and profess to "only stick to what they are designed for" have been tried before.... I've read and seen reports of such over last few years.... Although I've always thought "yeah right" when come across, to be fair some of these reports (and advise) I've seen/read of this shouldn't be "scoffed" at as the info and pictures "show" otherwise.... For "one off" records that are "not what they should be" it's an idea .... BUT.... would "we" actually take a chance on it with something that is "quite pricey" in a better condition than it is.... NOW that's the real question....
-
Ah but.... looks like the "winner" specialises in ABC "boots" .... This was his last "win" > HERE <.... p.s. who the fook is this "souldj" winner .... anybody heard him play out anywhere .... p.p.s. perhaps he's building up a "collection" to start the latest "big new night" somewhere in the "midlands" .... "east" or "west" you take your pick cuz they're all at it "down there" looking through "events" this last year .... TIN HAT NOW FIRMLY ON ....
