  1. .... then there's the spell checker bit ....
  2. 1) Too late Mikey.... 2) As if .... 3) Expect it to be a bit of everything really in main room.... perhaps more "Stafford" in 2nd or t'other way round ....
  3. Wish I'd have known this a couple of years back Pete .... no worries.... was happy to stump up the cash ....
  4. Not that one.... did try summat else when first got PolderBits, can't remember name of it, but ended up ditching it as never really had a problem and when used for minor pops, clicks, etc., seemed to lose some of sound I thought.... any "small" pops, etc., coming over from CD just adds that authentic listening experience IMO albeit in digital form on CD....
  5. Always record with "recording quality" set to "comact disc, stereo" myself Dan.... as long as the "levels" don't peak often in the "red" then your recordings will be fine.... obviously you may need to set different levels for different/quieter/louder records by adjusting before you actually record the tune properly.... can use your mouse on the level indicators or the up/down arrows on your keyboard if not worked out yet Dan.... These will burn with excellent sound quality on to CD.... of course taking into account any "pops" or "surface noise" which with then be on CD as you're technically recording the exact record sound.... Have fun my friend ....
  6. Quicker .... See you worked it out then Dan .... like I said.... piss simple.... have PM'd you with other info for you....
  7. Used to be about £50 for the 12".... not sure if gone up or down from that though "dukester" ....
  8. No Dan.... piss simple to use.... and only seconds to load onto PC once downloaded which is also quick.... Has "help" manual if you think you might struggle with it .... I used the two week thing and bought licence as was well impressed.... it's a one off payment of £21.50 and then you can also get any updates free which they e-mail you about....
  9. Just re-read your post Dan and it appears you must already have the leads I mentioned in my last post .... So just get a proggy for recording....
  10. Record onto PC via "line in".... twin mini jack lead (red/white ends) from "video/sound out" on back of my music system, might be different outputs on yours, to "line in" which is a single mini jack.... can pick these two into one leads up from any audio shop mate.... On my PolderBits proggy I have option to select source....from drop down box of "aux, cd player, line in, microphone, mono mix, phone line, stereo mix or video"........ In FAQ's on Polberbits site it tells you all the info there under "connecting a turntable".... will be same for whichever recording proggy you use Dan ....
  11. .... err.... ....
  12. Hi Dan.... could you not have recorded the tunes onto your PC.... by default they are normally saved as WAV's.... I use PolderBits.... available HERE.... this records your records and then you can edit them down.... i.e. get rid of long run-ins/offs.... you can then save as WAV of MP3 or save as both if you save it twice (as each) .... Otherwise if you've got a recording proggy already can you not play the tunes you've saved (not sure what as) and re-record saving as WAV or MP3....
  13. Rich my boy.... prices "increasing" has always been with us.... nowt new.... as for the "poor buggar" that sang it working in a crappy job now.... well that's a sad fact in a lot of cases.... we won't change it.... As for your mate.... well.... "talking bollox" comes to mind.... winding you up, probably.... Now go and lay down Rich and take a couple of paracetamols.... you'll feel better
  14. Never leaves you mate.... unlike some "mates" and "women" .... F*** em all I say .... if they don't understand "this soul thing" that's in your blood from when you first hear it then they aren't worth knowing .... but at least we all do ....
  15. Elequantly put Mr Chalkster .... but "oh! so true" ....
  16. Certainly is "tubbs".... have you noticed when you click on "dustygoldrecords" feedback score of 1 and then on the "item number" from his/her feedback you get this.... "Invalid Item This listing (4710521602) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available. Please make sure that you've entered the item number correctly. If the item was removed by eBay, please consider this transaction canceled. If anybody contacts you to complete the sale, please ignore the request. Completing the sale outside of eBay may be unsafe and will not be covered by eBay purchase protection programs. Items that ended more than 90 days ago are no longer accessible through the eBay system." Being as well it ain't the usual 90 day removal thing then I suppose you can draw from it what you will ....
  17. You can always "pull it" Andy with the usaul option of "seller withdrew the item because...." and perm any other option there after you choose .... Sod it.... shall we go "big bids" on it ....
  18. Just said that Stevie.... keep up with the threads/posts ....
  19. Same as BLADEFORLIFE who is a.... well you can guess from his name.... I'm up the road near Crystal Peaks/Beighton....
  20. Surprised to hear your from Sheffield originally.... having just read the "O2" thread I'd have thought you'd have spelt in dee-dah a bit better .... obviously been down south to long and forgotten .... same as Pete S says.... didn't read it as insultive and I'm from up North (Sheffield).... just with a comic slant and a bit of humour.... perhaps that's still the Sheffield lad in you ....
  21. Taste would be a funny old thing to you Joe as dogs don't have any do they .... Couldn't resist it ....
  22. Thanks for that Linda as from what I understand of the "two" scenes then you are quite correct.... tons of records now crossing over to each one.... basically the "same" scene now I would suspect.... and I sure you haven't offended or upset anyone, well not me anyway.... I was just putting a differing slant on how I read the replies to how you did.... Understandable I suppose in light of your "dealings" with a seller.... hope you get it sorted ....
  23. You are obviously angry about something/someone Linda but I must say not too sure where the reply to "billytheboot" and other post's came from.... perhaps it's because you know the web site author.... I just read it as a query re where Salamone comes from, i.e. ringing a bell though the mention of popcorn as he used derivitives of that as well as other names although not "topic related" I know.... and re the "language posts", just another query as to what it actually was IMO, although not "brilliantly" put I must admit.... I recognised it as Flemish straight away due to an "ex of years ago" having family from a village near Ostend that I wnt to a few times, not that I can speak it of course.... Also in line with what you say.... I too have had records from different Belgium dealers with no problems.... so if you feel their is a "Belgium" thing ongoing then I would say not so.... just think that due to the "popcorn/northern" link that a "very few" from Belgium try to make a quick buck by "knowing of" some of the record titles/values on both scenes, as do sellers in the USA and elsewhere these days.... As for Patrick's (?) web site.... it looks like he's put some hard work into it from what I looked at .... p.s. just saying how I see it as too many posts get mis-read and then arguements start on here far too often these days.... sorry ....
  24. .... upset Pete ???? .... Seriously though.... I know you've done it mate.... BUT IS IT DIFFERENT ????.... I'd say NO as I would argue that the "unavailable" bit (not sure about the "anywhere" part on some stuff done) is what this "rare soul" scene is about with some tunes, always has been and always will.... making stuff "readily available" is no different than jumping into Dr Who's Tardis and going "back in the day" when Soussan and the like did the same.... yes people may be more "up front" now when selling by saying that the tunes are "re-issues/boots/etc." but still wouldn't agree it's different.... but if there's a market then each to their own I suppose .... Also, the "x" ammount of tracks on a DVD is only the next step I'd say.... again, if there's a market "someone" will find it and go for it.... Just all in my humble opinion of course ....
