In three words... summed up above.... Alternatives ????.... mmmm.... errr.... didn't think so.....

The question is asking WHY ????.... The answer of us all begins with BECAUSE.... Between us we can "GET" the "why and because" bit.... allbeit in our own way as shown by answers above.... so all parts of the answers hit a cord with us in some way.... Suppose what I'm saying is.... and forgive me for saying so to the topic starter.... but why ask the question on a SOUL FORUM as the answer is pretty much obvious to all us all "IN THE KNOW".... AND.... to be honest.... after 20 years plus of this self same question I'm f*ck*n fed up of explaining the WHY and BECAUSE to people I know who just do not GET IT like we do.... it's now become "VERY PERSONAL" to me and "f*ck you" to them as I don't even now try to explain it.... The plain and simlpe answer is it just "GRABBED YOU AND BY THE (men and women use their own adjectives here) AND YOU NEVER LET IT GO".... the upshot being.... "WE WILL NEVER EVER LET IT GO"....

Strange that they all look "rough" Cookie as you say.... one of those that I can't say I've ever seen "clean".... vinyl has had it's various "rough to excellent" looks but the label seems to be much of a muchness .... The "ring dirt" you mention Trevor seems to be "the" factor on all those I've seen.... Scan of one I sold on quite a while ago.... pretty much in line with all those I've seen where the "label" is concerned....

Or is that 35p Pete .... And what about the "postage" costs ....

Mace.... I've been reading this thread over last couple of days thinking "WTF is the point of this groan".... and then you go and sum it up in one sentence mate.... Also, if you've got a max price you want to pay then entering it on a "sniper" is only the same as manually entering it.... the trouble/problem with "manual entry" (that sounds like a comment from playboy tv ) IMO is if you get up or stay up "bleary eyed" to enter your bid and your max has been surpassed you then you tend to get that "gotta win it cause I want it AND I've got/stayed up to do so" mentality and end up bidding above want you wanted to or can afford/budget for.... put a bid in a "sniper" and leave it.... win it, your happy.... lose it, so what your not outta pocket.... Yes you can get the odd "bargain" if other "live" bidders forget/can't get out of bed/fall asleep at PC/whatever.... but that's life.... One final point.... it was stated in the starting post that it's annoying to lose out by the odd $$$$ or so when bidding "live".... look at it in reverse.... what about the times a "sniper" gets up and checks their bid "lodged by sniping" only to find out the "end price" is only a few $$$$'s above their "snipe bid"... the "snipers" then only think the same by wishing "I should have put an extra $$$$'s on to win it".... then reality strikes home and you realise the "winner" could have had a "large proxy or live bid via ebay" entered anyway.... Works both ways IMO .... The simplist answer on here yet to "non snipers" who "hate not winning" a record "by the odd $$$$" ....

Been sorting sounds out on my PC that were "all over the place" in various different files from over the years.... anyhow, dragging them into a File I've added in "My Music" and came across these two.... Any help on Artist, Title, Label,etc., greatly appreciated as strangely only got a number on these (and on some others that I can name) instead of the usual Artist and Title.... thinking somehow these were numbered when mass batch copied across from an old PC a few years ago... Renamed them "choon" and "choon2" for now as have gone comletely "blank" on naming them.... Thanks in advance....

Is that JM's 4th ed. because CRESCENTS are in both 2nd & 3rd @ 50 & 100 respectively.... Bill E.B. Smith not listed in 2nd or 3rd.... Irma Thomas is in 2nd @ 15 but not listed in 3rd.... Dean Parrish is in 2nd @ 20 and in 3rd @ same value as stated above.... As an aside re these Price Guides.... it seems titles get dropped or added with each edition.... would've been nice to get each further edition having more titles added (none dropped) and current values adjusted to the current (when published) climate rather than swap and change titles listed.... would save checking each edition to find something.... means I'm still wondering if 4th edition is worth investing in....

That's not policing Dave IMO.... just a belief in "playing format" which we know has been covered over and over again.... that's for the individual to live with behind the decks and the dancers to accept in front of them....

Seems people's perception of what the "soul police" is are different Winnie.... like you said, I saw Trev's answers as those of any old "passionate soulie" sharing info and looking out for each other, especially regarding the eBay slant.... I see the "police" as going a lot deeper than that but difficult to explain.... usually shows in certain answers to posts where it is seen, by me IMO, to go beyond help and info and more towards "directing" people's thoughts and opinions.... I don't see Trev as a "police officer", just a "passionate soulie" hence my take on his answers.... where that stops and policing starts, is like you suggest, difficult to narrow down.... but, as stated, answers to posts shows it to me.... .... probably....

Probably Trev, nah, definately pal .... but it was a "must do" situation, along with Tan Geers and a few others at that time, to get some ready cash for some earmarked potential purchases so soon after Christmas expenses on the kids .... I think it would've been a fair few weeks before a sale on JM's with the waiting list for additions to the auction site .... Pasified myself with their replacements though I think ....

Ah... no I didn't... you meant the you as in Kev.... not the you as in everyone in general reading the post which is how I was reading it.... it is late over here Dave even if I'm working (er-hum) nights .... I also know why it's on the "T" page Dave right in the middle of all the "The" groups .... My why was why is that actual track on Soul Club in the first place.... that's what I couldn't/can't get my head round .... Must look more closely on Soul Club to see what else Atom has included that's strange for that site ....

Not sure what you mean by same thing happens when you post links on Hitsville.... is it a "quirk" of the "sites".... or is the track included on Soul Club/Hitsville in the first place.... But furthermore Dave.... it's listed on the "T" page right between The Ottisettes and The Outsiders.... so what I can't get my head around is why is it on there ....
