  1. Picked this up again late 90's Roger on the MS1010 purely to spin the "You've Got The Love To Make Me Over" side a few years back.... nice tune....
  2. T'was indeed Chalky.... missed his ....Is this one originally released on Music Merhant ??.... opening line and just concentrated on the MM bits .... Just Brothers story here on SS.... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/soul-words/ju...ry-rob-moss.htm Scan from same page....

  5. That's the name of the place.... I'd gone "blank upstairs" trying to recall it's name....
  6. Are you meaning the (Shrine Records) warehouse fire in the 1968 Martin Luther King riots where all Shrine's stock of unsold records was destroyed as a result?
  7. It makes no difference to me Mark.... as you say, a good tune IS a good tune.... irrespective.... That said, the "social" side with "like minded people" does have it's many advantages but so does listening at home.... for one, you can put on what you want on rather than waiting and hoping it gets played when out.... On thinking how "special" this music is to "us" gets me thinking.... I also find that when your on distant shores soaking up the sun and having "soul" pumped into your ears via an mp3 player, or whatever, that it gives you a warm heart feeling of being "special" as you're hearing "special tunes", whilst supping on long cold beers and watching the girls walk by of course , that no other person around has got a clue about and wouldn't comprehend.... Unless of course by some strange quirk of fate another person's on the same beach at the same time doing the same thing and feeling the same way ....
  8. Not sure if in right place Mods but didn't want to put where members only can read as I know people that attend PF read this forum regularly for info but choose not to join and post.... Anyway.... a mate of mine found his bunch of keys to be lost/missing at the end of the night last Friday at Ponds Forge.... They contained both house and car keys.... Although we had a good look round at the end of the night, and have contacted Ponds Forge since to see if any have been handed in, this bunch of keys are still at large.... We are not sure whether they were dropped or put down on a table as his recollection of when they were last had before the end of the night is unsure.... It may be that somebody either found and picked them up during the night, or picked them up by mistake, and still have them.... If anybody reading this found any keys, or knows of anybody else who did, can you please get in touch with me.... mark@vaultofsoul.co.uk or 07770 475186.... or of course you can PM me if a member of SS.... Thanks.... Mark
  9. And not forgetting the late Nev Wherry, RIP, who was a resident at KGB when Steve Croft and Adrian were at the helm .... Always remember non soul mates and parents thinking/believing that "members" of the KGB were some sort of "underground communist fraternity" ....
  10. Echo the above .... In from work.... packet opened and discs put on.... Cheers Richard ....
  11. Not so daft Joe.... sounds very familiar....
  12. Was thinking more along the lines of venues being set up on same nights within same city/town or very local.... irrespective of the arguement about a venues music policy.... hence the clashes create overkill statement....
  13. I'd say it was the other way around on this statement Mike.... clashes create overkill....
  14. Patsie Slater releases on label or just label releases Pottsy .... If for label this one with a different layout design....
  15. Hi.... I'm almost sure it's spaghetti weston....
  16. Friday 14th September sees the 7th Anniversary night and the last at the venue before moving on to pastures new. Entry is FREE with ticket with a limited number of FREE CDs.
  17. .... too true.... try "finding" the examining board when your asked for a duplicate certificate .... no longer exist .... Anyway.... hope the rest of my post answered your query although I'm sure someone will correct it if not entirely accurate.... Soulfully.... Mark
  18. Have to say it having read the above .... It's hard to "tell the sound of any record from the picture".... compressed or not .... Anyway.... seriously.... loads of these about a couple or so years ago.... sold on ebay mainly by brooklyn born/group records.... one or the other or perhaps both.... A recently(ish), at the time, boot/taylor made/reissue (whatever).... usually at a set $$$$ buy it now price which gradually increased over the months.... Can't really comment on the "sound" BUT back then a "guest" of ours played it out "loud" so it sounded OK.... must add he was unaware of it's origin or authenticity until told by a few people.... didn't you %$£&@ if you're reading this ....
  19. A very true comment Mark.... One prime example for me was an issue of Morris Chestnut I let go.... "I wish I'd have known" was what I got prior to the self same comment you state .... until I reminded them I'd mentioned it 4-5 weeks earlier .... Back on topic re limits.... todays prices are in no way reflective of prices from years ago so my "biggest" gripe is at the comments you get from people you know/see and on sales lists on here like "great record, I only paid such and such for it" .... so annoying as I suspect we can all say that on records we have.... so quite rightly you mention inflation and value.... The fact will always remain that the more you earn the more you spend.... that was exactly the same "back in the day"....
  20. Mmmm.... interesting question.... don't really have a "limit" I suppose.... Quite simply put.... as much as I'm prepared to pay for something.... Irrespective of guide book prices, hype, etc., if I'm happy with the "deal" that's it.... I'm sorted.... on to the next one.... A want is a want so if it seems I got it cheaper.... great.... if I've gone a little above what "others" thought it should be.... also great as it's me paying at the end of the day.... It's the old cliche.... a "wanted" record is only worth as much as your prepared to pay no matter how much higher or lower other people try to tell you it "should have been" ....
  21. Ahum.... "lil' peddler" on ebay ....
  22. If this is Stan "The Man" from South Yorkshire then he sure does.... and a cap full of badges....
  23. Correct of both counts Chalky....
  24. Gud job we know the "proper language lyrics" Pete or we'd think it was a Nesum Dormer (spelling?) track in some ampitheatre in Italy ....
  25. PM'd you ....
