  1. Wants to get a settee like the rest of us... daft bugger.
  2. Presumably the one who recorded as 'Little Sister'?
  3. The number thirteen is considered unlucky because Judas was the thirteenth at the table at the last supper.
  4. I've seen other releases on the kiddies block label, so it's more likely that they came from another plant - and if I remember correctly they are Styrene - so probably west coast issues... Of course I could be talking absolute shite.
  5. Not easy, but not impossible. £100+ these days. Old FLIPside and Back Beat spin for Hoss.
  6. Never been the easiest Action 45. I've had a couple of spares, the last of which i sold to a Soul Source member for £35 about 4 years ago, so I reckon you were a touch too cheap at £40.... maybe £60 would be a more realistic price.
  7. When I get my new cartridges for my decks i'll record a snippet - they are in the post...
  8. ...ish I suppose. But the instrumental I have is called "Miss You So", and the lead vocal is replaced by a muted trumpet. I've also got an (unreleased?) acetate that sounds like Tiny Topsy, singing different lyrics over the backing (or one that's very close).
  9. I've got a cheesy instrumental version somewhere....
  10. Already been done. Like a Clowns Pockets, apparently.
  11. Had a record out on Metromedia - wishy washy crossover type effort if I remember correctly.
  12. Fair play to him Dave, it must be murder keeping the Levine "cart on it's wheels". Afterall, he's got to keep the main attraction on side for the Torch revival
  13. per capita. Most Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire. Least Liverpool.
  14. He's already sorted, but if anyone else wants one I have a Mint W/D available.. £40 including recorded p&p / paypal fees etc (UK)
  15. More a sign of a lack of cash / willingness to spend it. Seems to be the same few records that people are chasing, and even less willing to take a punt on something they don't know is a sure fire floorfiller. I blame it on everyone being a DJ... Ouch! (stubs toe on DJ box.)
  16. The Tamla you have is the rarest. Also came out on the later "square" Tamla label though.
  17. No just a few 'vocal' ones on here are saying no. It's gone on since decks with pitch control were invented, and it will go on long after Denbo, Mark and the others are dust... it's part of the art of DJing, just like knowing when to and not to use the microphone. Depriving someone of hearing a great tune just because it needs a slight tweak is IMHO worse than 'fooling' Denbo with the speed a track runs at on his Gramophone. Just playing Devils advocate of course...
  18. See post #11. A complete waste of vinyl.
  19. John Anderson can tell a few tales about this.... really interesting when you get a few glasses of wine down him and he gets on a roll....
  20. All drilled. Go and use a drill for ten minutes, then grab the drill bit, and you'll realise why this is the case.
  21. and to think, nowhere on that list does it say "bootspinnin".
  22. No, it's short for Ball Bearing - after the guns that used to shoot them - a bit like an Air Pistol, but instaed of pellets, they fired Ball Bearings. The hole in the record is about the size that one of these ball bearings would make (if it didn't shatter the record first)
  23. What label is it on Chris? I've got about 4 different 45s by her, and without searching them all out I'm not sure whether I've got that one.
  24. Have you heard the Big Daddy Simpson "Someday" that Linda has a copy of? Get her to play it to you.... then ask her to play it at -8 (the original speed it was cut at).. and prepare to be astounded.
  25. Luddite.
