  1. Distilled water and a very soft brush. Don't use any form of solvent / acetone or even alcohol (IMO)
  2. Paul, I respect your right to consider the track worthy of respect, as much as I personally hold the right to believe that it's just not really very good. Believe it or not I am quite broadminded in my taste - but when something doesn't work for me, then there's no point beating about the bush - i.m.o it's tripe and listening to three minutes of tripe is three minutes i'll never get back. Unfortunately, there was so much i didn't like about a lot of the tracks, I thought i had been as positive as I could muster in my notes.
  3. Marc, There were plenty of reissues out there that got time on the decks. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing it at one point. Round here we call it the "Good Times, Bad Times... Nine F*cking Times" Syndrome.
  4. Pikeys dog was pointing out that Ian Levine was playing an hour of "Semi Known / Rare / Not so rare Northern Soul" not an hour of mixed "Deep / Ballad / Funky" or otherwise - I could have gone more in depth on every track, but that would have been nitpicking. Maybe cack was a little strong - how about dull, boring and bereft of any redeeming features other than it is by an artist popular with the "Soulier than thou" few.
  5. Little Ben and the Cheers came out twice on the label, with different flips. Marvellous record - nice to see the 'big boys' have finally started picking up on it.
  6. I've listened to the show, hopefully without bias, and made comments next to each track... Tried to be as postive as I could, so if I say I'm not a fan, then it means I really am not a fan.
  7. That's the one - knew it had three letters in the label... Presumably these were licensed?
  8. Didn't this come out on a single sided UK demo in the 90s? BGP label?
  9. Alvin and the Chipmunks.
  10. The fact that there's an 'A' on the centre of the b-side would have got a few alarm bells ringing round my way.
  11. yep it's a shonky 70s EMIDISC
  12. Nowt frantic about it - it's my middle name....
  13. schadenfreude \SHOD-n-froy-duh\ , noun: A malicious satisfaction obtained from the misfortunes of others.
  14. Which version of the Ideals is it? Label?
  15. I put the odd 'new' DJ on early doors at Back Beat for no fee - but on the understanding that they get themselves and a guest into the allnighter (the rest of the night being all theirs) - and they will be booked later in the year if they can prove their mettle. I'll do the occaisional freebie for friends trying to get a night off the ground, on the same provision - if the night takes off, book me again for a paying job later in the year. Lastly, I always accept any charity bookings I get (within reason), because it costs me close to bugger all to do so, on the understanding that others will do the same.
  16. got a spare one of these somewhere in the piles... Will get abck to you on it.
  17. Might have both the Jr Parkers - definately have at least one...
  18. Jimmy Seals - Yesterday Of Our Love.
  19. That's a later 70s re-issue on the back of his "Rap-O-Crappo" Disco hit.
  20. Massive hit + Low demand = Close to bugger all.
  21. Interesting to read that Danny Moore was still rated at £1K at the time of the article.
  22. My "Blue Elephants" have all come from Holland.... maybe it was a "BeNeLux" release.
  23. 100% Bootleg, without a shadow of a doubt.
  24. it has been booted on a look-a-like "Home Of The Blues", but the label is nearer to green than yellow.
