  2. Angus wasasking me about the Maxine Brown LP the other day - does he know you have one up for sale?
  3. Heard what appeared to be a remix of this on Richard Searlings show - it had the plinky plonky bit out of "Out Of My Mind" by Rain mixed into it... and it was absolute bobbins. As for Whitney Houston, I can't hear or see her without getting the mental image of constipation, Bobby Brown and a metal coathanger - it's not a pleasant image, I can tell ya.
  4. 1.) Only buy what you like, not what other people are chasing. 2.) Try and buy records at bargain prices, if it seems too expensive, pass on it and wait till another comes along - a lot of £50 - £100 records are common, so they will turn up eventually 3.) Don't try and get everything all at once, and accept the fact that there are records out there that you will never own.
  5. Tony, not sure if I have had one... I'm definately still shy of a few and it's taken that long to complete the swap they've been spread to the four winds...
  6. not seen one Tony, but not been actively looking for one either... tried the obvious sources? Val Shively etc...
  7. bobbins.
  8. " It's Got The Whole World Shakin' " is probably my fave.

  10. Mighty Soul - Mighty sam - Soul City SCM-004 Side 1 Papa True Love Talk To Me I Need A Lot Of Lovin' Georgia Pines Baby Come On Home I'm A Man In The Same Old Way Side 2 Fannie Mae I Who Have Nothing Good Humor Man When She Touches Me Get My Baby Out Of Jail Silent Tears Just Like Old Times Bad Mouthin' A fair old mix of up tempo and slow tracks. I suppose it's so hard to find because most copies will have found their way over to Japan for the deep collectors. All of the above tracks plus another three are on this CD: https://cgi.ebay.com/MCCLAIN-MIGHTY-SAM-PAPA-TRUE-LOVE-AMY-SESSIONS-CD_W0QQitemZ130323568046QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_CDs?hash=item1e57e3d5ae&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  11. That's the lot.
  12. I only ever read the Mr Potatohead column, and when that stooped it was bye bye...

  16. further to above - yes some Soul City Lps are rare - the Mighty Sam LP is a right bugger to get hold of, and the Valentinos/Sims Twins Lp isn't easy. Billy Preston Greazee and the Soul From The City compilation are fairly common though.
  17. I've just realised where you get you taste in shirts from....
  18. No, they send you to prison on a death penalty, keeping you alive so that they can harvest your organs for transplant.
  19. This is a Canadian recording and came out on Arc in Canada.
  20. Sounds like a late 60s Spencer Davis Group track to me... Should it be played at Northern / R&B venues? For me, no. But I do like it as a '60s' 'Beat' throwback kind of sound.
  21. Someone I know has every Motown related UK 45 right up to TMG 720 (The demo only Edwin Starr and Blinky) then from 721 on until the blue label came in. Most of the Stateside and Tamla Motown ones are demos. The Fontana and Oriole ones are all issues - and the London ones are a mixture of issues and single sided demos. Now what's that little lot worth?
  22. Sat pissing myself at this - you are the Victor Meldrew of Soul Source.
