    Used to be a ten quidder but recent copies I've seen have been £30ish (probably due to it being rated at £40 in Manships). £20 - £25 would be a fair price IMO.

    So long as you don't link to the other sellers sales page, then it's a case of list away, IMO. The other sellers could be massively overpriced and never sell, why should you have to wait and 'give them a chance' - if they priced them competitively thay would fly out anyway.

    Probably because when tapes were prevalent at the end of the eighties and through the early nineties, there wasn't the market for Northern like there is now... Of course there's also the fact you couldn't DJ with tapes (due to the sound quality) like you can with CDs.

    Congratulations in changing your question so many times that it no longer resembles the original... You're right, I do download the odd track on eBay (usually the first 60s seconds) to remind me of what they sound like, so i can buy them for my own collection in future. Not sure of the relevence of the "after a quick buck or two" part of your question though? Anyway here's a tune that sprung to mind when reading your ramble, hope you like it...

    You questioned the offer of a download of Frank Wilson and you said that anyone who said no was a liar... The truth is, I very rarely download anything, so a Free legitimate download of Frank Wilson would be about as appealing as genital warts to me. Now which part of that do you want to twist round to suit your half-arsed argument? Ps I just checked and at present I have one mp3 (the Checkmates Hey Mrs Jones), and one Podcast "Northern Soul Top 40" on my computer. But Midget and Donkey Porn is a different story...

    To be honest I've only got about a dozen tracks downloaded onto my PC from auctions on eBay to remind me what they sound like. Otherwise there is no music whatsoever on it. Frank Wilson? Why would I download it when I could sing it word for word anyway? Give me a fooking break.

    Reissued on Route in the mid 70s (around the same time as Get Out by Harold Melvin) I'd say a fiver.

    Saw at least half a dozen on my last trip to the States, and as Boba says above they were all in the VG range. Not that rare IMO. I'd rate a minter at around £20.

    Otis Clay - 3Three Is A Crowd - One-Derful Demo (not on any issue) M- 55 It was demo'd twice with "three is a crowd" long raucous intro and 'no' intro versions, and it was definately issued with the longer intro (I've had one).

    No, they were definately applied by the pressing plant, not by some charlie hoping to blag people. Selling a Grapevine issue in a RCA demo sleeve doesn't make it a demo, and implying that it is could be construed as ripping the bidder off. Perhaps putting it in a regular white card cover and selling is as an issue (ie what it is) would be a safer form of "just covering yourself"?

    A heads up for you... The Duke Browner definately isn't a demo. The later number demos had round white stickers over the middle of issues with a large A on them.

    Walking Up a One Way Street came out on Nola first - atlantic was the National release.

    Possibly, since Billy Sha-Rae recorded it as well... 10 times better, but also 10 times rarer IMO.

    Top five rare UK Tamla LPs in no order IMO are: Marvellous Marvelettes In Loving Memory Marvin Gaye On Broadway Martin Luther King Jr Marvin Gaye Nat King Cole LP (Brenda Holloway is scarce but isn't in the top ten UK rarities IMO.)

    Yep, but theres another five on there that have sold for between $60 and $80. One freak auction result shouldn't set 'real world' prices IMHO.

    I'd rate the top one at £70 the bottom one at £35 and the rarer one not shown at around £80....
