  1. £30ish Also came out on Aussie MCA.
  2. Flogging a dying horse springs to mind...
  3. I've had a couple pass through my hands as well - it used to be a cheap 'UK collectors' piece, usually ten to fifteen quid.
  4. VG+ with clean labels and centres intact please. 601002 Carla Thomas - Something Good (dark blue) 601002 Carla Thomas - Something Good (pale blue) 601003 Johnnie Taylor - Ain't That Lovin' You 601004 Sam and Dave - Soothe Me (pale blue only) 601010 Mable John - Bigger & Better 601020 Ruby Johnson - Keep On Keeping On 601021 Otis & Carla - Knock On Wood 601023 Sam and Dave - Soul Man 601026 Booker T - Chinese Checkers 601027 Otis Redding - Satisfaction Ta,
  5. I wouldn't recommend these - the handles aren't up to the weight of a box full of 45s . I learned this from the experience of seeing the box fly off down the street, leaving just the handle in my hand.
  6. "Vee Hav Vays Ov Making You Dance!"
  7. Hear Hear! Here's to Ray Hudson, Pete Day and Tim McCall. Finer fellers you couldn't wish to meet.
  8. Anyone fancy a slice?
  9. I've got a minter on Legrand (red label). It owes me a bit more than a tenner, but a lot, lot less than $238. Not bothered about keeping it, so if you want to make me an offer?
  10. Yep, tis a wonderful 45. Came out on British too...
  11. Believe me, the temptation was there, but Fools rush in where Angels fear to tread - I couldn't be 100% certain as my bootleg/reissue/repress (whatever you want to call it) was in the loft so I didn't have the solid proof in front of me. I gave 'the benefit of doubt' in this case.
  12. And just to confirm - Manships guide states that the copy with the 2:01 time on the label is a mid 1970s repress (the correct running time is 2:35), which is the one in your picture.
  13. First off I never said the one in the picture was a boot - but I know that a very good counterfeit / boot / reissue was done on that design label - I've had the lined boot/reissue for some 20 years - and now have a plain blue italic script 'real one'. The Yellow labels are first issues and therefore more ***desirable*** (You are right about me spelling desirable incorrectly - that's what you get for posting after having a cart-load of beer at the H&G) All confirmed above by Bri, so 'nuff said IMHO.
  14. If that's the case do you want to buy the one I've got that looks quite like the one in your post off me? I've always reckoned it was a boot, but if you want to put your money where your cake-hole is I'd gladly take your money.
  15. really? I would have said that it's less desireable on that design as it's more likely to be a boot.
  16. Trouble is, without having the originals in your hand many of these are good enough to fool a lot of collectors - stick one up for sale on ebay with a half decent photo and you could really lift someones leg.
  17. It common knowledge that it was him doing the boots at the last Allentown, he was quite open about it. He'd supplied loads of dealers over there with them for their "Repo" sections.
  18. As far as I'm aware, yes.
  19. Blatant bootlegs done by a semi-famous actor. Good fun to be around but a fooker when it comes to wide-boy-ish-ness.
  20. mines red - wonder how many colour variations there are?
  21. Out of interest, how much did it fetch?
  22. It's 100% boot.
  23. Up All Night Vols 1 + 2 Are a fair place to start .
  24. Cheap enough to pick up if you can be bothered. In general they aren't as collectable as Grapevines.
