  1. A bit of a daft request I admit, since to be out of earshot there would have to be at least 60 dealers tables set up end to end.
  2. I'll have a table, preferably out of earshot of Mace. I like my bacon crispy. Cheers.
  3. I'd give it a go - just need to confirm date so I can say yay or nay.
  4. Seems a reasonable price for the original 60s EP to me. Books a lot higher. (£150 in Record Collector)
  5. your links aren't the most 'user friendly' method of delivering the samples... maybe that's why you've had no response?
  6. I've got one up on eBay at the minute... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360353285272&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  7. Just the Marv Johnson - I'm not a Plaything i think... possibly Rita Wright as well.
  8. Does anyone have the release dates for the green/black Action label releases and the first ten or so early 70s B&C releases (James Carr - Freedom Train, Jackie Lee and Delores Hall, Clyde McPhatter etc)? I have a theory that the Action label was mothballed, and for some reason releases that should have come out on the label ended up coming out on B&C - hence the B&C labels on the final Action LP, even though the rear sleeve sports an Action logo. This could explain the numbering of the black / green label jumping half way through it's run.
  9. Just a bump to see what happened to these - did they all sell?
  10. No anger here - that would mean some form of emotion - and to be honest it's definately lacking in that. Dreary would be a fitting description.
  11. You wouldn't/can't - but you could have placed a snipe that wouldn't register because of the 'current high bid' being more than one incremental jump higher than the amount allowed to place it.
  12. No I was searching under Action in records. Cheers for the link.
  13. Joan, not "taking the piss" here - but I'll try and simplify it as much as possible. Basically it's all down to the 'current high bid' level rather than what others have placed. Lets say opening bid is 1p. You place a snipe/last minute bid of 80p over another bidder, you will still win even though you have only bid 80p more than the current high bidder, as you still meet the requirement of placing a bid of 'one full increment' over, because even though the other bidder was before you, the current high bid was still only 1p. If however the opening bid was 49.99 and someone had placed a bid of 50.77, your bid of 50.80 would not be accepted, because it is not one full increment over the current high bid of 49.99 This is the case no matter how many bidders there are or what their highest bid is - it's purely down to what price the 'current high bid' is and your ability to place a full incremental bid over that. hard to explain 'on paper' as i can't see what faces you are pulling to what i've written above lol
  14. auction number? Can't find it myself.
  15. Because the automated system will only allow one full increment bid over the current high bid showing.
  16. Pete, Without going into the mechanics... Let's say the opening bid is £9.99 If you are the first bidder at £50.88 and someone bids £50 - you win it for £50.88 If you are the second bidder at £50.88, you will still beat the £50 bid even though it isn't by the full £1 increment. If you are the third bidder, the first bidding at £49, and the second at £50, you will not win as you have not bid the full £1 as required.
  17. I think you are being a bit generous there Chalky. Utter tosh.
  18. Used Western Union before - it's a right ballache - you have to go to a Western Union agents to collect it - seem to remember there being a collection fee as well.
  19. Balllads on Vee Jay black issue is something i've never held in my hands - seen both Wee variants and plenty of blue/white demos. gotta be worth a £50 punt for someone.
  20. good ballad flip on this as well. hard to find 45 in my humble opinion.
  21. god knows why.
  22. quick reply to this as I'm just about to pop out to the Wilton... spoke to John Anderson at Prestatyn and he told me the following: Soulful Twins is a genuine release, he didn't have them pressed, and the reason thay have a different label design is because it was distributed by Onederful/ He got them as part of his large One-der-ful, Mar-V-Lus, M-Pac hit (I think he said he purchased circa 200 of them along with 400 of the Ringleaders on M-pac) and that there were 'loads' left by him.
  23. I really wish i'd bought this when it was a twenty-quidder. oops, silly me, i did.
