  1. I was hoping to make it a heart-felt story of coming of middle age - not a documentary
  2. I reckon Lot Of Money is a lot rarer than Monkey - took me ages (years) to find an upgrade copy to replace my VG playbox copy.
  3. Without for me as well.
  4. We were talking about the issues of Carl Carlton - not Reuben Howell.
  5. Yep, that's the one.
  6. 70s reissue (official) £15 ish
  7. I'm putting forward a script for a film about the current scene - none of this 'heyday' nostalgia for me... I see it as a cross between Tod Browning's Freaks and Cocoon The Return with a thumping 'Funky' Northern Soundtrack
  8. I've certainly taken my own advice Dave, I've cut promoting from circa 8 events a year to zero in the last twelve months. DJing - I've DJ'ed 4 times since January (all freebies for friends/charities - a couple of which were long-standing bookings)... I was doing that per month 18 mths ago. The trouble is - as soon as one DJ stops DJing they create a void - which like any vacuum is quickly filled...
  9. £100 US. £35 tops UK. The UK copy is a seventies issue to meet 'Northern' demand and sold extremely well - real world price should be £10, but it regularly hits £30+ on eBay.
  10. Your listening flaps must be painted on. A perfect example of rarity over quality.
  11. I'd say is a pressing fault - you get them on styrene records where the mold has been damaged during use. It shouldn't affect play so long as it isn't 'proud' of the groove.
  12. Bring back the late 80s/early 90s , those were the best years for me. Smaller venues with everyone all in one room. Plenty of oldies mixed in with 'Newies' and one-offs. One big Allnighter per Month/Fortnight One 'big' local Saturday Soul Night per month per major city - none of this 9 nights per county with under 50 punters per venue. Promotors who dignt DJ at other folks venues, so you didnt get the "you do mine, I'll do yours". DJs being brought in from other counties, not just Tom, Dick and Harry from a quarter of a mile away. Unfortunately none of this will happen until 50% of the 'returnees' feck back off.
  13. continued.... Argentinian Dionne Warwick & the Detroit Spinners promo...
  14. Just arrived today.... Argenitian Tamla Motown Elgins EP
  15. PM me your best offer including P+P for a Mint- copy.
  16. i reckon i may have a spare - if so it would be £15 plus p+p or £20 inc p+p whichever is lower.
  17. Little known, but obviously known for a while as the issue is higher in price than the demo.
  18. Carl Carlton version is far superior IMO... plus there's a great x-over track on the flip of the issue as well.
  19. Had a few nice bits out of Mr Peabodys, great if you like the later sounds on 12"/LP. Having said that, also had a couple of nice bits out of his 45s (Bobby Hutton - Come See $5).
  20. Why anyone plays this I'll never understand. It sounds like a sloshed Tranny club-turn singing to these ears.
  21. Be carefull with the Garfield Fleming 12" - I've had three and they all had a pressing fault that caused them to jump.
  22. I'm pretty sure I held one - but the seller wanted 'too much' for it, and I left it as i have a UK one.
  23. That's what I'd class as the Lightning design - the one I'm thinking of is the WD version of this label design:
